摘要: This paper considers a full-duplex (FD) point-to-point system consisting of one multi-antenna FD access point (FD-AP) and one two-antenna FD mobile station (FD-MS). We adopt simultaneous wireless information and power transfer scheme and apply the self-energy recycling at FD-MS. In order to minimize the weighted sum transmit power, we jointly design the transmit beamforming vector of FD-AP, the receive power splitting ratio of FD-MS, and the transmit power value of FD-MS. Since the original problem is non-convex, we apply semidefinite relaxation and obtain a new convex problem. We further prove that both problems have exactly the same solutions. Finally, simulations are provided to verify our analysis, and the comparison with a half-duplex system demonstrates the significant performance gain from self-energy recycling.

摘要: Digital television signal is a promising signal of opportunity for wireless positioning. This paper studies the time of arrival (TOA) estimation on the European standard DVB-T signals in the context of positioning. Theoretical analysis on the autocorrelation of the pilot signal and multipath error envelop suggests that DVB-T has the appropriate characteristics for positioning. A software defined radio-based DVB-T receiver is developed for field testing, in which the radio frequency DVB-T signals are first sampled by universal software radio peripheral, and then algorithms of the coarse symbol synchronization, the pilot detection, the first path acquisition, and the delay tracking are sequentially performed to obtain the TOA estimation. To quantify the TOA tracking results on real DVB-T signals, field testing campaigns are carried out in five cities in Southern France. Test results showed that, in the high signal-noise ratio condition, the 2-σ error interval is within 1 m. By taking into account all the field tests, the interval of 95% accuracy is within 4 m and the corresponding C/N0 varies from 48 to 62 dB-Hz. In addition, with the developed TOA estimation method, the synchronization of the emitters with global positioning system time is evaluated and the distance difference of the multiple emitters within single frequency networks are also measured during the tests.

摘要: Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is envisioned to be one of the essential technologies for the fifth generation mobile network. In this paper, we implement a practical downlink NOMA system based on an open-source software defined radio (SDR) platform named as OpenAirInterface (OAI). For comparison purpose, our SDR-based NOMA system follows the basic specifications of long term evolution (LTE). In this system, a codeword-level successive interference cancellation (SIC) receiver is implemented. To improve the efficiency of the baseband signal processing in an SIC receiver, a multi-thread processing method is also introduced. Due to the limitation of original downlink control information (DCI) formats in current LTE systems, a new DCI format is dedicatedly designed for signal reconstitution in our developed NOMA system. Furthermore, some parts of upper layer protocols in LTE systems are modified to support the application services over the developed NOMA system. Based on our NOMA system, a series of over-the-air experiments are carried out, and the experiment results demonstrate that the NOMA scheme has a significant throughput gain compared with an orthogonal multiple access (OMA) scheme.

Four-PAM Modulation of Ambient FM Backscattering for Spectrally Efficient Low-Power Applications
摘要: Ambient backscatter uses radio frequency signals available in the environment (e.g., radio broadcasting, television, or mobile telephony) to transmit data effectively leading to significant energy and cost efficiency increase. This paper presents a novel wireless tag, which for the first time utilizes 4-pulse amplitude modulation technique to modulate the ambient backscattered FM signals in order to send data to a nearby low-cost software defined radio reader. The tag is based on an RF front-end that uses a single transistor controlled by an ultralow-power microcontroller. The microcontroller includes an analog-to-digital converter for sensing and a digital-to-analog converter for RF front-end control. A proof-of-concept prototype is demonstrated in an indoor environment with the low bit rate of 345 b/s and power consumption 27 μW. It operated using a real FM station at 34.5 km away and the tag-to-reader distance was tested at 1 m. The value of energy spent in this modulator was 78.2 nJ/bit at 345 b/s and 27.7 nJ/bit at 10.2 kb/s.
