A Speckle-Free Angular Interrogation SPR Imaging Sensor Based on Galvanometer Scan and Laser Excitation
摘要: A speckle-free fast angular interrogation surface plasmon resonance imaging (SPRi) sensor based on a diode-pumped all-solid-state laser and galvanometer is reported in this work. A bidirectional scan using a galvanometer realizes the fast scanning of the incidence angle. The experimental results showed that the time needed for completing an SPR dip measurement was decreased to 0.5 s. And through cascading an immovable diffuser and two diffusers rotating in opposite directions, laser speckle was eliminated. The dynamic detection range and the sensitivity reached 4.6 × 10?2 and 1.52 × 10?6 refractive index unit (RIU), respectively, in a 2D array sensor when the angle scanning range was set as 7.5°. More importantly, the results demonstrated that the angular interrogation SPR imaging sensor scheme had the capability to perform fast and high-throughput detection of biomolecular interactions at 2D sensor arrays.

Pre-treatment for preventing degradation of measurement accuracy from speckle noise in speckle interferometry
摘要: Speckle interferometers, which can measure three-dimensional deformations with the same sensitivity in each direction of a three-dimensional axis, have been employed in the industry. However, the measurement results of a complex shape deformation using this method do not always produce a smooth phase map due to the influence of speckle noise. In this paper, this problem that occurs with speckle noise, which is included in the speckle pattern, is discussed. In addition, the solution to the problem concerning speckle noise is discussed. An idea for noise reduction is proposed by using a simple speckle pattern intensity distribution model based on the interferometry. It is confirmed that the proposed method can reduce the influence of speckle noise to 1/1000 of the light source wavelength.

Effect of temperature on digital images of speckle patterns generated by a metallic rough surface
摘要: It is well known that roughness can be inferred from digital images of speckle patterns generated by illuminated rough surfaces, by analyzing parameters such as fractal dimension, lacunarity and correlation, to cite a few. In this article, we investigate the effect of temperature on the speckle pattern generated by the light scattered from a metallic rough surface. We show that fractal dimension is less sensitive to temperature changes than are lacunarity and correlation, and provide information about which method is more suitable for processing the speckle patterns produced by rough surfaces under temperature variation.

Comparison of different non-invasive diagnostic techniques used for HMME-PDT in the treatment of port wine stains
摘要: Background: Hemoporfin-mediated photodynamic therapy (HMME-PDT) is an effective method for treating port wine stains (PWS). While, it still lacks methods to evaluate the treatment of HMME-PDT for PWS effectively and objectively. Objective: This study aimed to compare the value of different non-invasive diagnostic techniques used for HMME-PDT treatment evaluation in PWS. Methods: Thirty-one lesions of 22 patients with PWS were treated with HMME-PDT. Four non-invasive diagnostic techniques including VISIA-CRTM system, dermoscopy, high-frequency ultrasound (HFUS) and laser speckle imager (LSCI) were used to obtain standard radiographic data containing skin color, skin thickness, blood vessel morphology, blood vessel distribution and blood perfusion from lesions and normal skin surrounded before and after HMME-PDT. Results: The standard image pattern of VISIA-CRTM system showed color change of the lesions of PWS after HMME-PDT. RBX-red image of VISIA-CRTM system showed that erythema was highly aggregated even on invisible lesions at baseline but decreased after HMME-PDT. The erythema index reduced value d was related to the efficacy rating (γ=0.631, P<0.05). Dermoscopy showed that the number of spot-like and irregular linear vessels increased correlated with increase of clinical classification. After HMME-PDT, vascular rupture was observed by dermoscopy. The response rate of lesions with vascular rupture was 100.00% (20/20). And the response rate of lesions without vascular rupture was 63.64% (7/11). Vascular rupture sign was correlated with better efficacy (P<0.05). High-frequency ultrasound showed that dermis of PWS thickened and arranged loosely with scattered linear hypoechoic signal. After HMME-PDT, the dermal layer of the lesions became thinner with the linear hypoechoic signal decreased. The response rate of lesions with linear hypoechoic signal was 76.92% (10/13), and that without linear hypoechoic signal was 94.44% (17/18). The lesions without linear hypoechoic signal in dermis showed better efficacy (P<0.05). In some lesions, Laser speckle contrast showed high blood perfusion signal in PWS lesions and a blood perfusion reduction after HMME-PDT. Conclusion: VISIA-CRTM system can be used to observe not only visible but also invisible lesions of PWS. Moreover, lesions fading after HMME-PDT treatment can be described objectively by VISIA-CRTM system. Dermoscopy played an important role in the clinical classification of PWS, including assessing vascular injury after HMME-PDT, guiding the adjustment of therapeutic dose, and selecting the end point of treatment. HFUS and LSCI can be both used to assist the treatment response evaluation of HMME-PDT.

摘要: image processing procedure, Satellite images captured in a variety of modalities serve as the primary source for many applications. Satellite image processing extracts the image /spectral information represented in the form of pixels, classifies those pixels based on the similarity measures and further analyzes the inherent data, as per the requirements. The foremost objective of satellite processing is to automatically categorize the pixels in an image into the respective land cover class labels or themes. These pixels are classified by its spectral information and it is determined by the relative reflectance in various bands of wavelength. The accuracy and outcomes of any satellite the application domain, directly depends on its quality. Satellite images are invariably degraded by speckle noise. Hence, preprocessing the images for speckle noise suppression and/or cloud removal is deemed an inevitable component in satellite image processing. Researchers have proposed a spectrum of methods for speckle noise/cloud removal. A detailed review on the significant research publications on speckle noise removal are summarized in this article. The consolidation of methodology merits and demerits of the select research articles are presented in this paper. Three-dimensional correlation of speckles in deep Fresnel region: extracting the roughness exponent of random surface
摘要: We provide a detailed analysis of the three-dimensional cross correlation properties of speckle patterns in the deep Fresnel region scattered by random surface. Basing on Kirchhoff approximation, we ?rst derive the quantitative relationship between the longitudinal correlation function and the fractal characteristics of random surface. A novel measuring method is proposed for extracting the roughness exponent of random surface from the longitudinal correlation function of speckles. In experiment, the speckle patterns deviating different distance from the object plane are acquired by a microscopic imaging system. The longitudinal correlation function of the speckles descends with the increase of deviating distance in the form of negative power law. By calculating the Fourier transform of the longitudinal correlation function, we obtain the roughness exponent of random surface by making linear ?tting in the large spectrum region. The extracted results are in good agreement with those measured by an atomic force microscopic, which indicate our method has a satisfying accuracy.

Ratio-Based Multitemporal SAR Images Denoising: RABASAR
摘要: In this paper, we propose a fast and efficient multitemporal despeckling method. The key idea of the proposed approach is the use of the ratio image, provided by the ratio between an image and the temporal mean of the stack. This ratio image is easier to denoise than a single image thanks to its improved stationarity. Besides, temporally stable thin structures are well preserved thanks to the multitemporal mean. The proposed approach can be divided into three steps: 1) estimation of a 'superimage' by temporal averaging and possibly spatial denoising; 2) denoising of the ratio between the noisy image of interest and the 'superimage'; and 3) computation of the denoised image by remultiplying the denoised ratio by the 'superimage.' Because of the improved spatial stationarity of the ratio images, denoising these ratio images with a speckle-reduction method is more effective than denoising images from the original multitemporal stack. The amount of data that is jointly processed is also reduced compared to other methods through the use of the 'superimage' that sums up the temporal stack. The comparison with several state-of-the-art reference methods shows better results numerically (peak signal-noise-ratio and structure similarity index) as well as visually on simulated and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) time series. The proposed ratio-based denoising framework successfully extends single-image SAR denoising methods to time series by exploiting the persistence of many geometrical structures.

摘要: A method of Monte Carlo simulation of low-coherence radiation propagation in turbid media with consideration of speckle noise (the result of mutual interference of secondary spherical waves) is described. The process of photon propagation within investigated object, such as biological tissue, includes the following steps: the photon injection, mean free path determination, the verification of the fulfillment of the boundary condition, the absorption and scattering. Structural image reconstruction in optical coherence tomography (OCT) with consideration of speckle fluctuations is made by summation the statistical weight of the beam coming out of the investigated object inside the detector area with the intensity of a series of pixels of the current A-scan. The key feature of the presented method is the description of the investigated object geometry. Three-dimensional array of voxels combined into parallelograms, and the border cross checking is carried out by using an improved Smith algorithm. The described method can be used to obtain high-quality endoscopic structural OCT images of body cavities and tracts (diagnosis of the respiratory tract, cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, etc.).

Speckle Noise Reduction of Medical Imaging via Logistic Density in Redundant Wavelet Domain
摘要: In the digital world, artificial intelligence tools and machine learning algorithms are widely applied in analysis of medical images for identifying diseases and make diagnoses; for example, to make recognition and classification. Speckle noises affect all medical imaging systems. Therefore, reduction in corrupting speckle noises is very important, since it deteriorates the quality of the medical images and makes tasks such as recognition and classification difficult. Most existing denoising algorithms have been developed for the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). However, AWGN is not a speckle noise. Therefore, this work presents a novel speckle noise removal algorithm within the framework of Bayesian estimation and wavelet analysis. This research focuses on noise reduction by the Bayesian with wavelet-based method because it provides good efficiency in noise reduction and spends short time in processing. The subband decomposition of a logarithmically transformed image is best described by a family of heavy-tailed densities such as Logistic distribution. Then, this research proposes the maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimator assuming Logistic random vectors for each parent-child wavelet coefficient of noise-free log-transformed data and log-normal density for speckle noises. Moreover, a redundant wavelet transform, i.e., the cycle-spinning method, is applied in our proposed methods. In our experiments, our proposed methods give promising denoising results.

摘要: Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging systems can provide valuable sources of earth observation data for various applications. Speckle noise reduction of images produced by these systems is a challenging issue. In this paper, a novel method is proposed for reducing the speckle noise from time series SAR images. This method is mainly based on wavelet transform and Kalman filter. The proposed method is applied to a time series SAR images acquired by Sentinel-1 over Tehran, Iran. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed method, both qualitative and quantitative evaluations are reported compared to those of conventional speckle filtering methods. The experimental results show the good performance and efficiency of the proposed method for the speckle reduction of multitemporal SAR images. As well, the results show that the proposed method can preserve the major edge structures and the spatial resolution while reducing the time of processing.
