    摘要: In this paper, a low-cost vision-based autonomous landing architecture for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on a moving platform is presented. First, a novel landing pad was designed for a monocular camera to robustly detect the pad in both high and low altitudes. In order to solve mirror effect and occasional misidentification, a 3D points cluster algorithm for relative position estimation is presented. Second, the dynamics of the quadrotor is simplified for this landing task and a PD controller is designed based on the estimated relative position. Finally, the low-cost system architecture of the quadrotor and the experiment results are both presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Ordered Sequence Detection and Barrier Signal Design for Digital Pulse Interval Modulation in Optical Wireless Communications

    摘要: This paper proposes an ordered sequence detection (OSD) for digital pulse interval modulation (DPIM) in optical wireless communications. Leveraging the sparsity of DPIM sequences, OSD shows comparable performance to the optimal maximum likelihood sequence detection (MLSD) with much lower complexity. Compared with the widely adopted sample-by-sample optimal threshold detection (OTD), it considerably improves the bit error rate (BER) performance by mitigating error propagation. Moreover, this paper proposes a barrier signal-aided digital pulse interval modulation (BDPIM), where the last of every K symbols is allocated with more power as an inserted barrier signal. BDPIM with OSD (BDPIM-OSD) can limit the error propagation between two adjacent barriers. To reduce the storing delay when using OSD to detect extremely large packets, we propose BDPIM with a combination of OTD and OSD (BDPIM-OTD-OSD), within which long sequences are cut into pieces and separately detected. Approximate upper bounds of the average BER performance of DPIM-OTD, DPIM-OSD, BDPIM-OSD and BDPIM-OTD-OSD are analyzed. Simulations are conducted to corroborate our analysis. Optimal parameter settings are also investigated in uncoded and coded systems by simulations. Simulation results show that the proposed OSD and BDPIM bring significant improvement in uncoded and coded systems over various channels.

  • Research of Single-Event Burnout and Hardening of AlGaN/GaN-Based MISFET

    摘要: This brief ?rst time presents single-event burnout (SEB) simulation results for conventional AlGaN/GaN gate ?eld plate MISFET (GFP-C MISFET), simultaneously, a hardened MISFET with electrode connected doped plugs in the buffer (EC-DP MISFET) is proposed for the ?rst time. The SEB triggering mechanisms contain the back-channel effect and following impact ionization dominated by electron in the high ?eld region. By comparing the simulation results from the GFP-C MISFET and proposed hardened EC-DP MISFET, the carriers induced by heavy ion can be quickly absorbed to drain and source electrode through EC-DP, so that the proposed EC-DP MISFET can achieve better SEB performance than conventional one. With a heavy ion having the linear energy transfer value of 0.6-pC/μm striking vertically, SEB threshold voltage obtained in GFP-C MISFET and hardened EC-DP MISFET is 280 and 338 V, respectively.

  • Compact polarimetry for automotive applications

    摘要: Though compact polarimetric approaches have been developed and applied in space and geo researching systems they have not been taken into consideration in automotive applications, yet. A sensor system has been designed to conduct polarimetric measurements in the 77 GHz frequency band, which is permitted for automotive usage. This system is able to transceive linearly as well as circularly polarized electromagnetic continuous waves. Depending on the case of application, the frequency output can be set statically or modulated over time within adjustable parameters. Hence, a variety of compact polarimetric modes can be performed and compared with full polarimetric approaches. Two compact polarimetric modes, dual-circular polarimetric mode, and circular-transmit-linear-receive, will be introduced and applied in this contribution. Their operability in this frequency range will be investigated after the microstrip antennas as well as the beam focusing dielectrical lense are characterized. Finally, results of a realistical measurement set-up will confirm the practicability of compact polarimetric approaches for double bounce recognition.

  • An Interdisciplinary Approach to the Nanomanipulation of SiO2 Nanoparticles: Design, Fabricationand Feasibility

    摘要: Although some recent developments in nanotechnology made the prospects of a direct mechanical manipulation of micro- or nano-objects quite realistic, there are still several concerns and difficulties that affect such an endeavor. This is probably due to the large base of knowledge that is necessary to approach the problem of handling a nano-object by means of a nano- or micro-device. Therefore, any progress in this field is possible only by means of an integrated and interdisciplinary approach, which takes into account different aspects of the phenomenon. During the actual pioneering phase, there is a certain convenience in handling nano-objects that: (a) have peculiar known characteristics; (b) are easily recognizable, and (c) are interesting to the scientific community. This paper presents the interdisciplinary activities that were necessary to set up an experiment where specifically synthesized SiO2 particles came in contact with the tips of specifically-designed and -fabricated nanomanipulators. SiO2 mesoporous nanoparticles (KCC-1), having a peculiar dendritic structure, have been selected as a suitable nano-object because of the possibility to easily modulate their morphology. The expected contact force has been also calculated by means of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) electro-mechanical simulations.

  • System Design and Evaluation of a Compact and High Energy X-ray Talbot-Lau Grating Interferometer for Industrial Applications

    摘要: X-ray grating interferometry has been an active area of research in recent years. In particular, various studies have been carried out for the practical use of the x-ray grating interferometer in medical and industrial fields. For the commercialization of the system, it needs to be optimized for its application. In this study, we have developed a prototype of the compact high energy x-ray grating interferometer of which the high effective energy and compactness is of our primary feature of design. We have designed the Talbot-Lau x-ray interferometer in a symmetrical geometry with an effective energy of 54.3 keV. The system has a source-to-analyzer grating distance of 788.4 mm, which is compact enough for a commercial product. In a normal operation, it took less than ten seconds to acquire a set of phase stepping images. The acquired images had a maximum visibility of about 15%, which is relatively high compared with the visibilities of the other high-energy grating interferometric systems reported so far.

    摘要: This paper designs an analog circuit for k -winners-take-all (k WTA) operations. The circuit is stable and ?nite-time convergent. The stable state of the circuit is equivalent to the optimal solution of the k WTA. Simulation results via SPICE substantiate the e?ciency of the design.

  • Approach to Inversion Design of Dielectric Material Based on the First-Principle

    摘要: The ?rst-principle is an e?ective method for the material property calculation. One inversion design idea of dielectric material based on the ?rst-principle was put forward. In this kind of material design thought, the speci?c demanded dielectric property of material is the starting point of the whole design course. The atomic structure characteristic of the material is solved using the inversion model based on the ?rst-principle. And the key issues needing researching were discussed, these problems were quantized structure of electromagnetic and optic ?eld, the quantized polarization theory of dielectric material, the uniform calculation method of dielectric property and the dielectric material inversion model.

The prototype, developed for data-downlink applications from LEO satellites, is fed by a circular waveguide and can be associated to a turn table mechanism to provide the same Earth coverage as a conical isoflux beam, with the benefit of a higher gain.

  • Photocatalytic degradation of yellow 2G dye using titanium dioxide/ultraviolet A light through a Box–Behnken experimental design: Optimization and kinetic study

    摘要: Yellow 2G (Y2G), a type of anionic, synthetic monoazo dye that is widely used in household applications, textiles, and food industries, has been found to have cardiovascular and neurological effects on all living beings. In the present study, heterogeneous photocatalytic degradation of commercial Y2G was conducted using pure titanium dioxide (TiO2) in a batch reactor system under ultraviolet A (UVA) light for 180 min. TiO2 dosage, pH, and initial Y2G concentration were the three experimental parameters selected and studied to obtain preliminary information about the photocatalytic activities within a specified range. The Box–Behnken design method (BBD) was used to determine optimal values of the results using the above parameters of Y2G photocatalysis under response surface methodology (RSM). The optimum conditions were 0.914 g L?1 TiO2, pH 3.45, and an initial Y2G concentration of 20 mg L?1. The Y2G degradation efficiency was 96.19% using a second-order polynomial equation with R2 = 0.999. The experimental results also showed that the photocatalytic process could be successfully explained using the modified Langmuir–Hinshelwood model, where kc and KLH were 0.787 mg L?1 min and 0.010 L mg?1, respectively.
