[IEEE IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - Valencia, Spain (2018.7.22-2018.7.27)] IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - The Difference of Rrs Product Derived From Modis Meris and Seawifs in South China Sea
摘要: This study presents the difference of normalized remote sensing reflectance (Rrs) between SeaWiFS, MERIS and MODIS with in situ data in the SCS. The results show that all the satellite-derived Rrs are less than the in situ data, and the APD(Absolute Percentage Difference) of the Rrs from the three satellite sensors are mostly less than 20%, except band 412 and 660 nm in global ocean and band 555and 660nm in SCS. The blue band of the three missions have the good performances, whose APD are less than 15%. The performances of MODIS Rrs is better than MERIS (or SeaWiFS). And, compared with each other in the SCS , the results show that the Rrs of the three missions are generally agree well with each other, but they still have big differences in the coastal area. The MODIS Rrs is bigger than MERIS’s and SeaWiFS’s in the 412, 443 and 488 nm band. The differences between MERIS (or SeaWiFS) and MODIS change with band (488 nm is the best one). And the differences among three missions for blue band has seasonal variation in the SCS from 2008 to 2010.

摘要: The aerosol extinction profiles at Granada (Spain) have been obtained combining ceilometer and sun/sky measurements in the GRASP code. In order to see the goodness of these retrieved profiles, three photometers at different altitudes have been used. The aerosol optical depth (AOD) at different height layers have been calculated with these photometers and it has been compared against the integrated retrieved extinction at the same layers. The obtained AOD (from GRASP and from photometers at different altitudes) correlates well, showing the most of r2 values above 0.6. The differences between both AOD values indicates that the retrieved aerosol extinction profiles are within the uncertainty of the photometers but this method overestimates the extinction at low levels and underestimates at high levels.

摘要: Accurate knowledge of the solar irradiance is required for various climate and energy applications. For these applications as well as irradiance forecasts, estimates of clear sky irradiance are often essential as basis for further calculations. In this paper we comparatively validate clear sky irradiance estimates from four fast clear sky models with varying atmospheric inputs. The comparison is made against in situ irradiance observations from five stations in southern Finland, for four summer months in 2016. The main atmospheric inputs, Aerosol Optical Depth and water vapour, are taken from MACC and ERA-Interim reanalysis datasets. Nearly all models underestimate irradiance in the used sites, with McClear, Pvlib Ineichen and Pvlib Solis with default input performing the best. The use of reanalysis inputs increase the Solis errors, which is considered to be because of the AOD and water vapour climatologies not representing the specific sites and times adequately.

摘要: The HISUI Hyperspectral Imager is being developed by Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI), which will deploy on International Space Station (ISS) Japan Experiment Module (JEM) in FY2019. HISUI Level2 surface reflectance product (L2G) will be also provided for each of the VNIR and SWIR bands as research products. We have a plan of HISUI L2G validation, which includes not only surface reflectance itself also the atmospheric parameters, especially aerosol properties. We already have 3 sites that measures the atmospheric parameters day by day. This research shows the aerosol properties over validation sites in Japan on one of the HISUI calibration and validation activities.

摘要: Surface broadband albedo is a critical parameter in surface radiation budget (SRB), which controls the input, separation, and allocation of the Earth’s surface energy. Recently, a Global LAnd Surface Satellite (GLASS) phase-2 surface broadband albedo product has been generated from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) data. In this study, we present a preliminary validation of the GLASS phase-2 surface broadband albedo with the FLUXNET 2015 dataset. The results show that the GLASS phase-2 surface broadband albedo product has a reasonable good accuracy compared with the currently widely used surface albedo dataset, and can provides more reliable estimations of surface albedo at the seasonal snowfall and snowmelt regions. In addition, the GLASS phase-2 surface albedo product is a long-term, global covered (including land and ocean surfaces) dataset, which can be applied in various scenarios of SRB and climate change studies.

摘要: The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Teledyne Brown Engineering (TBE), located in Huntsville, Alabama, USA, cooperate to develop and operate the new space-based hyperspectral sensor DLR Earth Sensing Imaging Spectrometer (DESIS). While TBE provides the Multi-User platform MUSES and infrastructure for operation of the DESIS instrument on the ISS, DLR is responsible for providing the instrument and the processing software as well as instrument in-flight calibration and product quality operations. MUSES has been already launched and installed on the International Space Station ISS in early 2017 and DESIS will follow mid of 2018. We present here an overview of the DESIS instrument, the on-ground data processing, the in-flight calibration and product quality investigations.

摘要: Land surface shortwave downward radiation (SWDR), as one of major components of the surface radiation budget (SRB), plays an important role in the fields of atmospheric, oceanic, and land processes, and ultimately influences the Earth’s climate as well as the matter and energy cycle of the earth system. Currently, regional or global SWDR can be obtained either from reanalysis products or from satellite observations based on statistical or physical-based retrieval models. Although great efforts have been made to assess the applicability and accuracy of those different SWDR datasets, few studies have been conducted to evaluate the performance of the Clouds and the Earth’s Radiant Energy System Synoptic (CERES-SYN) Edition 3a and Himawari-8 SWDR datasets over the Tibetan Plateau. In this study, the both SWDR datasets are validated against in-situ data at 11 ground sites from the China Meteorological Administration (CMA). It is found that the Himawari-8 SWDR product has a slightly higher accuracy in these two SWDR datasets but with a significantly higher spatial resolution (5km). The mean bias is 1.7 W/m2 for CERES-SYN and -1.6 W/m2 for Himawari-8, respectively, the root mean square errors (RMSE) are 31.3 W/m2 for CERES-SYN and 31.2 W/m2 for Himawari-8, respectively. Mean coefficient of determination (R2) of the two datasets are both over 0.8. It is clearly that CERES-SYN tends to overestimate SWDR somewhat while the Himawari-8 has slight underestimation over the Tibetan Plateau. The findings in this paper can be valuable for hydrological, ecological, agrometeorological and biogeochemical applications and researches.

摘要: Constant innovation in simulation software and the platforms on which this runs is resulting in much more readily available data, and data which explores a wider range of parameters of the systems being analyzed. An example of this is data such as surface currents or fields in a volume. As the degrees of freedom in the data increases, the ability of the user to visually assess any comparisons diminishes. The FSV (Feature Selective Validation) method, a Reliability-Function like heuristic is described. The application to multiple dimension data is described and application to analyzing transient or pulse phenomena is presented.

A forward approach for the validation of soot sizing??models using laser-induced incandescence (LII)
摘要: While validating the numerical modeling of the primary particle size distribution (PPSD) in sooting flames, a common practice is to compare the numerical results to the corresponding experimental data obtained with the Time-Resolved Laser-Induced Incandescence (TiRe-LII) technique. Since the PPSD is not directly measured by TiRe-LII, but derived with a post-processing procedure, various uncertainties and errors can potentially affect the consistency of such comparison requiring the estimation of many input parameters. On the contrary, nowadays, detailed numerical simulations provide access to a more complete set of data, which can be used to reconstruct the incandescence signal. In this work, a forward approach for the generic validation of numerical models for the PPSD is performed. It is based on the numerical reconstruction of the temporal evolution of the incandescence from the numerical results and its comparison with the measured signal. First, two indexes are proposed to quantify the agreement between the numerically synthesized and the measured signals. Then, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated a priori by quantifying the potential errors that can be avoided with this new strategy compared to the classical approach. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed procedure is proven by comparing synthesized signals to the experimental ones available in the literature for a laminar premixed flame. It is shown that the proposed approach can be used for strengthening the analysis on numerical model performances in addition to the classical approach.

Transmitter and Dispersion Eye Closure Quaternary (TDECQ) and its sensitivity to impairments in PAM4 waveforms
摘要: This paper presents the principles behind the transmitter and dispersion eye closure quaternary (TDECQ) test. A novel method to decompose TDECQ values is proposed where the result is separated into penalties from signal impairments that are either equalizable or non-equalizable by the reference receiver, enabling a more comprehensive study of signal quality. Moreover, the impact of selected impairments is studied in terms of their TDECQ penalty and its composition. This is achieved by producing generic test signals, where isolated impairments are applied to a high quality reference signal. The impairments include low-pass filtering, amplitude noise, compression and eye skew. Low-pass filtering is shown to contribute mainly to increase the equalizable penalty while noise, compression and eye skew are shown to affect mainly the non-equalizable part. The results serve as a generic guideline to understand the engineering rules and parameter limits that are needed to design links using TDECQ.
