  • Fabrication of alkali metal sulfate–doped zinc tungstate and their photoluminescence

    摘要: The enhancement of photoluminescence of alkali metal sulfate-doped zinc tungstate was investigated. All samples were prepared by solid-state reaction at 800 °C using ZnO, WO3, and alkali metal sulfates as starting powders. The zinc tungstate phase was confirmed from the samples by X-ray diffraction. The emission peak of the samples excited at 275 nm was observed at 465 nm. Rb2SO4 > K2SO4 > Cs2SO4 > undoped > Na2SO4 > Li2SO4 was the order of peak emission intensity of alkali metal sulfate-doped samples. Alkali metals with a large ionic radius (K, Rb, Cs) enhanced the emission of intrinsic luminescence in the blue wavelength region. Moreover, sulfates had the potential to change the luminescence activities of the samples.

  • Blue Copper Peroksidase and Phthalocyanine Conjugate: Synthesis, Characterization and Applications

    摘要: Trametes versicolor can degrade barks as a source for carbon necessity. Therefore it secretes lignin peroxidase, mangan peroxidase and laccase. The laccase enzyme was produced high yield at pH and glucose concentration 5 and 10 gL-1, respectively. In optimized medium, the enzyme activity was between 200-250 UL-1 when inducer was absent. It was seen that the activity reached 400 UL-1 when phenol used as an inducer. The molecular weight of purified laccase was found 80 kDa with SDS-PAGE and kinetic constant Km and Vmax values for ABTS were determined 3.66x10-4 μM and 1652 UL-1, respectively. Hence, due to these properties, these enzymes are widely used in industrial areas free or immolized. Laccase enzyme decolorization of 6 different dyes was carried out. A decolorization capacity of 50-99% was achieved by cultivation in 20 days using a beginning dye concentration of 20 ppm. The removal of color with active enzyme is obtained around 90%. Also laccase enzyme was conjugated amine functionalized low symmetrically phthalocyanine. This conjugate was examined both photodynamic therapy and chemosensor application. This conjugate fluorescence had a quantum yield of 0.32 (lifetime 3.59 ns) and generates efficiently singlet oxygen (quantum yield 0.4). The conjugate was successfully photodamage displayed in HeLa and HuH-7 cells in photodynamic therapy application. These results indicate that conjugate represent interesting agent with potential applications in photodynamic therapy. In addition that the chemosensor behavior of this compound to different metal ions has been studied and this conjugate display as fluorescence chemosensor for determination of Fe3+ions.

  • Simultaneous determination of trace amounts of copper and cobalt in high concentration zinc solution using UV–vis spectrometry and Adaboost

    摘要: Simultaneous determination of trace ions in zinc metallurgical solution provides effective process information for optimal control in zinc hydrometallurgy. In this paper, Ultraviolet and Visible (UV–vis) spectrometry with the analytical system based on nitroso R salt is applied to simultaneously determine the trace concentrations of copper and cobalt in high and varying concentration zinc sulfate solution. Firstly, fractional differentiation is applied to reduce the overlap between ions and covering of zinc on trace ions. Then, a multi-indexes fusion wavelength selection is utilized to find the optimal combination of variables for the partial least squares model. Next, to reduce the interference caused by competitive reaction and matrix effect of zinc ions, Adaboost creates a group of weak models to analyze trace ion concentration from multiple perspectives. Finally, Adaboost trains the sample weights and model weights of weak models and integrates those weak models into a strong model to predict the trace ion concentration comprehensively. A spectrum dataset containing 72 samples of zinc, copper and cobalt ions mixture solution is prepared for the proposed method. Results show that the proposed method can simultaneously determine the trace concentrations of copper and cobalt in high and varying concentration zinc sulfate solution accurately.

  • Effect of Cr3+ doping on structural and optical property of ZnGa2O4 synthesized by sol gel method

    摘要: Zinc gallate host and chromium ions doped ZnGa2O4 nano-powders was synthesized by citric acid assisted sol-gel method. The dopant molar percentage were varied between (0–2.5 mol. %). The x-ray di?raction (XRD) patterns shown that all synthesized nano powders are cubic structured and doping of Cr3+ ions did not a?ect the structure at all. The scanning electron microscope micrographs show small particles in nano range that are uniformly distributed, but became ag-glomerated with high doping of chromium concentrations. The high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HR-TEM) image shows the formation of several agglomerated particles with clear grain boundary and di?erent sizes. Energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy measurements con?rm the presence of the expected elements. Ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometer measurement shows the % re?ectance in the UV–vis region to be dependents on Cr3+ ions and the estimated band gap was found to vary between 4.46 and 4.80 eV. Un-doped ZnGa2O4 nano powder displays a broad blue emission but doping with Cr3+ ions caused the emission to occur in the near infrared region. An increase in Cr3+ ions up to 2.0 mol% lead to signi?cantly en-hancement in the near infra-red (NIR) emission but decrease thereafter. The CIE color co-ordinates values located in blue and NIR of the spectrum for undoped and Cr3+ doped samples, respectively. The photoluminescence emission intensity was also observed to be dependent on the excitation wavelength and the emission PL spectrum perfectly match the transparency window of living tissues and can e?ectively be used for bio imaging application.

  • A novel method for simultaneous determination of zinc, nickel, cobalt and copper based on UV–vis spectrometry

    摘要: A novel method based on UV–vis spectrometry is developed for simultaneous determination of zinc, nickel, cobalt and copper without any separation steps. The method studied in this paper is the combination of ratio spectra derivative and kalman filtering spectrophotometry. First, using absorbance of zinc standard solution as divisor, the ratio spectra derivative obtained can completely eliminate the interference of zinc on trace ions. Second, the trace ions are simultaneously determined by kalman filtering spectrophotometry. Last, based on obtaining trace ion concentrations, a calibration curve for zinc is established. The linear determination ranges are 10-70mg/L for zinc, 0.2-1.4mg/L for trace ions of nickel, cobalt and copper. The results show that the predicted results of zinc, nickel, cobalt and copper by this proposed method is superior to PLS method. The work reported here is an effective attempt for the simultaneous determination of zinc, nickel, cobalt and copper in industrial wastewater of zinc hydrometallurgy, and will have more applications.

  • Enhanced green photoluminescence of erbium doped Zn2SiO4 glass-ceramics as phosphor in optoelectronic devices

    摘要: This paper reported the fabrication of Er3+-doped zinc silicate (Zn2SiO4:xEr3+) glass-ceramics using recycle waste glass bottles. The glass-ceramics samples were synthesized with different percentage doping of Er2O3 using conventional melting and quenching method. The structural of α-Zn2SiO4:Er3+ crystal phase and microstructure growth were analysed via X-ray diffraction and field emission scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy has confirmed the network structure of α-Zn2SiO4:Er3+ crystal phase. The three excited transition states from UV-visible absorption spectra were enhanced significantly at the states 4F7/2, 2H11/2, 4F9/2. The wide-ranging green emission at around 553-559 nm under excitation 385 nm from α-Zn2SiO4:Er3+ crystal exhibit the energy transition of Er3+ ions from 4S3/2 → 4I15/2. Such luminescence of α-Zn2SiO4:Er3+ based glass-ceramics are probably to have a huge prospective application for glass phosphor devices.

  • 24.5: Back-Channel-Etched a-IGZO TFTs with TiO <sub/>2</sub> :Nb Protective Layer

    摘要: A back-channel-etched (BCE) process for the fabrication of a-IGZO TFTs is demonstrated, in which conductive TiO2:Nb (TNO) thin film is used to serve as protective layer for the a-IGZO active layer. TNO film could excellently protect a-IGZO due to its ultra-small surface roughness. With treatment by N2O plasma + 200°C annealing, the conductive TNO can be converted into an insulator to serve as an in situ passivation layer. Besides, the TNO in the source–drain (S-D) region remain conductive due to the protection of S-D electrodes, which could be proved by the XPS results. Compare with the conventional device without TNO protective layer, the S-D parasitic resistance (RSD) of devices with 1 nm and 5 nm TNO is significantly reduced. The positive bias stress stability is improved as well for the devices with TNO in situ passivation layer.

  • Synthesis and Characterization of Graphene Oxide/Zinc Oxide (GO/ZnO) Nanocomposite and Its Utilization for Photocatalytic Degradation of Basic Fuchsin Dye

    摘要: In this study, graphene oxide/zinc oxide (GO/ZnO) nanocomposite was prepared by the decoration of expanded and chemically oxidized graphite oxide nanosheets with zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles synthesized via two-step sol-gel deposition method and used as an effective photocatalyst for degradation of basic fuchsin (BF) dye. Structural properties of GO/ZnO nanocomposite were characterized with X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) methods, and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area measurement. It was found that the GO/ZnO nanocomposite formed a two-dimensional (2D) structure having a composition of 0.54GO/0.46ZnO (w/w) and average ZnO particle size of 25–30 nm. The band gap of ZnO nanoparticles onto GO nanosheets was found to be 3.25 eV while that of bulk ZnO nanoparticles was determined as 3.70 eV. Photocatalytic degradation works were performed into a UV-chamber by following the concentration of BF dye. Degradation reaction was modeled with the Langmuir-Hinshelwood pseudo first-order kinetic model. GO/ZnO nanocomposite increased the apparent reaction rate constant (k) about three times compared to bulk ZnO nanoparticles under UV light.

  • Surface functionalization of titanium with zinc/strontium-doped titanium dioxide microporous coating via microarc oxidation

    摘要: Deficient osseointegration and implant-related infections are pivotal issues for the long-term clinical success of titanium (Ti) implants. Zinc (Zn) and strontium (Sr) serve dual functions by promoting osteogenesis and inhibiting bone destruction, and Zn has good antibacterial activity. As such, this study examined the preparation of a Zn/Sr-doped titanium dioxide microporous coating (MT-Zn/Sr) on a Ti surface using microarc oxidation (MAO), with Zn and Sr evenly distributed throughout the coating. In vitro, the coating could promote the adhesion, proliferation, differentiation and mineralization of osteoblasts, showing good biological activity. Antibacterial testing demonstrated the good antibacterial activity of the coating, as it inhibited the proliferation of Staphylococcus. In vivo, MT-Zn/Sr promoted early osseointegration between the Ti substrate and the bone tissue. This work is expected to provide a new method for improving the biological activity of Ti implants and thus has important theoretical significance and great clinical prospects.

  • Bismuth Sulfide Nanorods with Retractable Zinc Protoporphyrin Molecules for Suppressing Innate Antioxidant Defense System and Strengthening Phototherapeutic Effects

    摘要: Bismuth (Bi)-based nanomaterials (NMs) are widely used for computed tomography (CT) imaging guided photothermal therapy, however, the photodynamic property is hardly exhibited by these NMs due to the fast electron–hole recombination within their narrow bandgap. Herein, a sophisticated nanosystem is designed to endow bismuth sulfide (Bi2S3) nanorods (NRs) with potent photodynamic property. Zinc protoporphyrin IX (ZP) is linked to Bi2S3 NRs through a thermoresponsive polymer to form BPZP nanosystems. The stretching ZP could prebind to the active site of heme oxygenase-1 overexpressed in cancer cells, suppressing the cellular antioxidant defense capability. Upon NIR laser irradiation, the heat released from Bi2S3 NRs could retract the polymer and drive ZP to the proximity of Bi2S3 NRs, facilitating an efficient electron–hole separation in ZP and Bi2S3 NRs, and leading to reactive oxygen species generation. In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrate the promising photodynamic property of BPZP, together with their photothermal and CT imaging performance.
