  • Effect of shielding gas flow on welding process of laser-arc hybrid welding and MIG welding

    摘要: The influence of shielding gas on welding process of laser-arc hybrid welding (LAHW) and metal inert-gas welding (MIG) was investigated by the computational fluid dynamics analysis (CFD) and high-speed photography. The results show that the process stability of MIG under high gas flow rate is poorer than that of LAHW. And the force of gas flow Fg can hinder the droplet transfer, whether MIG or LAHW. But the vaporization-induced recoil force Fv in LAHW helps to reduce this kind of hindrance and keep the process stability. Next, it can be found that the shielded gas flow mode in the main welding area cannot be changed significantly by increasing the shielding gas flow rate, while high gas flow rate can increase the area of high argon concentration and benefit the spread of molten metal.

  • Observation of evolution dynamics from bound states to single-pulse states in a passively mode-locked fiber laser

    摘要: We report what is, to our knowledge, the first experimental observation of the ultrafast evolution dynamics from bound states (BSs) to single-pulse states (SPSs) by using the dispersive Fourier-transform (DFT) technique. The evolutions from three categories of initial BSs to SPSs are spectrally resolved in real time. Usually, accompanied by complex soliton–soliton interaction and competition, one of the two bound pulses weakens to disappearance, and the other one evolves into SPS. During the transition, the two bound pulses ordinarily depart away from each other with complex changes of relative phase. However, it is found that not all the evolutions are accompanied by the increase of temporal separation between two bound pulses. The obtained results would facilitate a deep understanding of complex dynamics in nonlinear systems and provide valuable data for further theoretical studies.

  • Genetically encoded fluorescent indicators for imaging intracellular potassium ion concentration

    摘要: Potassium ion (K+) homeostasis and dynamics play critical roles in biological activities. Here we describe three genetically encoded K+ indicators. KIRIN1 (potassium (K) ion ratiometric indicator) and KIRIN1-GR are F?rster resonance energy transfer (FRET)-based indicators with a bacterial K+ binding protein (Kbp) inserting between the fluorescent protein FRET pairs mCerulean3/cp173Venus and Clover/mRuby2, respectively. GINKO1 (green indicator of K+ imaging) is a single fluorescent protein-based K+ indicator constructed by insertion of Kbp into enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP). These indicators are suitable for detecting K+ at physiologically relevant concentrations in vitro and in cells. KIRIN1 enabled imaging of cytosolic K+ depletion in live cells and K+ efflux and reuptake in cultured neurons. GINKO1, in conjunction with red fluorescent Ca2+ indicator, enable dual-color imaging of K+ and Ca2+ dynamics in neurons and glial cells. These results demonstrate that KIRIN1 and GINKO1 are useful tools for imaging intracellular K+ dynamics.

  • Fluorophore Labeling, Nanodisc Reconstitution and Single-molecule Observation of a G Protein-coupled Receptor

    摘要: Activation of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) by agonist ligands is mediated by a transition from an inactive to active receptor conformation. We describe a novel single-molecule assay that monitors activation-linked conformational transitions in individual GPCR molecules in real-time. The receptor is site-specifically labeled with a Cy3 fluorescence probe at the end of trans-membrane helix 6 and reconstituted in phospholipid nanodiscs tethered to a microscope slide. Individual receptor molecules are then monitored over time by single-molecule total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy, revealing spontaneous transitions between inactive and active-like conformations. The assay provides information on the equilibrium distribution of inactive and active receptor conformations and the rate constants for conformational exchange. The experiments can be performed in the absence of ligands, revealing the spontaneous conformational transitions responsible for basal signaling activity, or in the presence of agonist or inverse agonist ligands, revealing how the ligands alter the dynamics of the receptor to either stimulate or repress signaling activity. The resulting mechanistic information is useful for the design of improved GPCR-targeting drugs. The single-molecule assay is described in the context of the β2 adrenergic receptor, but can be extended to a variety of GPCRs.

  • Two-dimensional beta-lead oxide quantum dots

    摘要: In recent years, black-phosphorus-analogue (BPA) two-dimensional (2D) materials have been explored to demonstrate promising optoelectronic performances and distinguished ambient stabilities, holding great promise in practical applications. Here, one new kind of BPA material, orthorhombic β-PbO quantum dots (QDs), is successfully fabricated by a facile liquid phase exfoliation (LPE) technique. The as-prepared β-PbO QDs show a homogeneous distribution of the lateral size (3.2 ± 0.9 nm) and thickness (2.5 ± 0.5 nm), corresponding to 4 ± 1 layers. The carrier dynamics of β-PbO QDs was systematically investigated via a femtosecond resolution transient absorption approach in the visible wavelength regime and it was clarified that two decay components were resolved with a decay time of τ1 = 2.3 ± 0.3 ps and τ2 = 87.9 ± 6.0 ps, respectively, providing important insights into their potential applications in the field of ultrafast optics, nanomechanics and optoelectronics. As a proof-of-concept, β-PbO QDs were, for the first time to our knowledge, fabricated as a working electrode in a photoelectrochemical (PEC)-typed photodetector that exhibits significantly high photocurrent density and excellent stability under ambient conditions.

  • Black phosphorous sensitized TiO <sub/>2</sub> mesocrystals photocatalyst for hydrogen evolution with visible and near-infrared light irradiation

    摘要: Wide absorption from ultraviolet (UV) to near-infrared (NIR) region and enhanced charge separation are two main requirements for promising semiconductor photocatalysts. Here, we studied visible-NIR driven photocatalytic hydrogen evolution over black phosphorus nanosheets/TiO2 mesocrystals loaded with Pt heterostructure (BP NS/ Pt (3 wt%)/TMC TMC). BP NS/Pt (3 wt%)/TMC can harvest photons from UV to NIR and simultaneously has enhanced charge separation to increase the generation of electrons for photocatalytic reduction of water. BP NS/Pt (3 wt%)/TMC exhibited photocatalytic H2 evolution rates of 1.9 and 0.41 μmol h-1 under visible (λ> 420 nm (420-1800 nm)) and NIR (λ> 780 nm (780-1800 nm) irradiation, respectively, compared with 0.3 and 0.10 μmol h-1 for BP NS/Pt (3 wt%)/P25. Moreover, a comparative study was made to examine the effect of thickness of BP NS on the photocatalytic H2 evolution. Femtosecond time-resolved diffused reflectance spectroscopy (fs-TRDRS) was integrated together with photoelectrochemical measurement to shed the light on the importance of charge transfer and separation, confirming that decreasing the thickness of BP NS enhances electron injection from BP NS to TMC to increase the photocatalytic activity.

  • Particle size effects of tetrahedron-shaped Ag3PO4 photocatalyst on water-oxidation activity and carrier recombination dynamics

    摘要: We investigated photocatalytic water-oxidation performance of tetrahedron-shaped silver phosphate (Ag3PO4) crystals with various particle sizes. The performance was clearly influenced by the particle size. The maximum activity was found for the particle with a tetrahedron edge with 1.5 μm length, which showed the highest rate of oxygen evolution. A series of analysis against time-resolved diffuse reflection spectra of the powder samples reveals that not only carrier recombination dynamic but also photoexcited carrier density can play important roles in the water oxidation. Our finding should contribute to give one of the basic ideas when designing semiconductor photocatalysts for water splitting.

  • Reorientational dynamics of organic cations in perovskite-like coordination polymers

    摘要: Here we report the dynamics of organic cations as guest molecules in a perovskite host-framework. The molecular motion of CH3NH3+ (MAFe), (CH3)2NH2+ (DMAFe) and (CH3)3NH+ (TrMAFe) in the cage formed by KFe(CN)63? units was studied using a combination of experimental methods: (i) thermal analysis, (ii) dielectric and electric studies, (iii) optical observations, (iv) EPR and 1H NMR spectroscopy and (v) quasielastic neutron scattering (QENS). In the case of MAFe and TrMAFe, the thermal analysis reveals one solid-to-solid phase transition (PT) and two PTs for the DMAFe crystal. A markedly temperature-dependent dielectric constant indicates the tunable and switchable properties of the complexes. Also, their semiconducting properties are confirmed by a dc conductivity measurement. The broadband dielectric relaxation is analyzed for the TrMAFe sample in the frequency range of 100 Hz–1 GHz. QENS shows that we deal rather with the localized motion of the cation than a diffusive one. Three models, which concern the simultaneous rotation of the CH3 and/or NH3 group, π-flips and free rotations of the organic cation, are used to fit the elastic incoherent structure factor. The 1H NMR spin–lattice relaxation time for all compounds under study, as well as the second moments, has been measured in a wide temperature range. In all studied samples, the temperature dependence of the second moment of the proton NMR line indicated the gradual evolution of the molecular movements from the rigid state up to a highly disordered one.

  • Dynamically Optimized Multi-Interface Novel BiSI-Promoted Redox Sites Spatially Separated N-p-n Double Heterojunctions BiSI/MoS2/CdS for Hydrogen Evolution

    摘要: Novel BiSI promoted n-p-n double heterojunctions multi-interface photocatalyst BiSI/MoS2/CdS was constructed. BiSI is applied to photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. It possesses a small band gap and a strong optical absorption coefficient, therefore, the optical absorption scope and coefficient of MoS2/CdS have been effectively enhanced by compounding with BiSI. The continuous heterojunctions strengthened the function of single junction and guided the carriers’ transfer direction, thus the redox reactions occur at spatially separated sites. Built-in electric field along the radial direction of BiSI nanorod and MoS2 interlayer helps to transport carriers within lifetime. Carrier dynamics is optimized by multi-interface structure. In general, a new material BiSI is introduced to construct a multi-interface structure to optimize carrier dynamics, which resulted in a 46-fold increase in hydrogen production efficiency.

  • Effects of the emission layer structure on the electroluminescence performance of the white organic light emitting diodes based on thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitters

    摘要: White organic light emitting diodes (WOLED) employing blue, green and red thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters of DMAC-DPS(B), 4CzIPN(G) and 4CzTPN-Ph(R) are fabricated and the effects of the emission layer (EML) structure, including EML thickness and 4CzTPN-Ph(R) dopant concentration, on the electroluminescence (EL) performance of G/B, G/R/B and R:G/B are investigated. It is found that the WOLED with the simple EML structure of G(20nm)/B(10nm) demonstrates maximum power efficiency (PE) around 16 lm/w and color rendering index (CRI) of 81. Meanwhile, R:G/B EML exhibits better EL performance than that of G/R/B EML. Especially, striking high CRI of 90 together with maximum PE around 13 lm/w can be obtained for R(1wt%):G(20nm)/B(10nm) EML by meticulously modulation of EML thickness and 4CzTPN-Ph(R) dopant concentration, indicating the achievement of balance between EL efficiency and CRI for non-doped TADF emitter-based WOLED. Furthermore, the stacked EML of G(20nm)/R(0.1nm) and G(20nm)/R(0.1nm)/B(10nm) reveal much more serious obstruction of delayed fluorescence (DF) compared to mixed EML of R(1wt%):G(20nm) and R(1wt%):G(20nm)/B(10nm), implying more intensified quenching effects from the sandwiched 0.1nm 4CzTPN-Ph(R) layer which will lead to deterioration of EL performance. Different photoluminescence (PL) and transient PL decaying dynamics derived from the sandwiched 4CzTPN-Ph(R) ultrathin layer is found to be critical. The decaying dynamics responsible for such EML structure dependent EL performance is discussed in details.
