Tuneable Emission of Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane‐ Based Nanostructures Self‐Assembled in the Presence of Europium(III) Ions: Reversible trans‐to‐cis Isomerization
摘要: Hybrids nanostructures with switchable and reversible “blue-red-green” emission were efficiently synthesized. The Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane (POSS) behaves as a directional nano-cage for the terpyridine-based organic ligands allowing an easy complexation of Europium (III) cations. The complexes were characterized via UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopies and the stoichiometry was also confirmed via 1H NMR investigation. The octafunctionalized nano-cages allow forming novel self-assembled 3D architectures in presence of the lanthanide cation displaying a red-emission of particular intensity especially in solid state. The presence of an alkenyl group bridging the inorganic core to the organic moiety was employed to tune the emission properties via trans-cis isomerization of the double bond. In the case of O-POSS nanocages this isomerization was monitored also in presence of Eu(III) cations and was accompanied by an evident modification of the colour which passed from blue (trans-O-POSS) to red (Eu@trans-O-POSS) and finally to green (cis-O-POSS) as consequence of the release of the metal cations. This behaviour, together with the easy dispersion of the dry powder and the possibility of coating it as a film in presence of small amount of solvent, makes the emitting solid promising for applications in materials science.

A fluorescent Eu(III) MOF for highly selective and sensitive sensing of picric acid
摘要: A metal-organic framework [Eu3L3(CH3COO)2(H2O)2(μ3-OH)]?3DMF, (EuL, H2L=9H-carbazole-2,7-dicarboxylic acid, DMF=N,N-dimethylformamide) has been synthesized under solvothermal conditions and structurally characterized. In EuL, Eu6O8 clusters are four-bridged by carboxylates to form parallel-aligned Eu–O–C chains, which are further linked by the carbazole moieties of L2? ligands to form the three-dimensional framework with rhombic channels. The EuL material with characteristic emission of Eu3+ ion exhibits significant luminescence quenching response for picric acid (PA) and the linear Stern-Volmer plot was observed in the concentration range of 0.05–0.15 mM with Ksv of 98074 M?1. As far as we know, this Ksv is among the highest values for COFs and MOFs in detection of PA. The excellent anti-interference ability and repeatability were also verified by experiments. Lastly, we investigated the luminescence quenching mechanism in the EuL sensing system.

Exploration of structural, vibrational and spectroscopic properties of self-activated orthorhombic double molybdate RbEu(MoO4)2 with isolated MoO4 units
摘要: RbEu(MoO4)2 is synthesized by the two-step solid state reaction method. The crystal structure of RbEu(MoO4)2 is defined by Rietveld analysis in space group Pbcn with cell parameters a=5.13502(5), b=18.8581(2) and c=8.12849(7) ?, V=787.13(1) ?3, Z=4 (RB=0.86%). This molybdate possesses its phase transition at 817 K and melts at 1250K. The Raman spectra were measured with the excitation at l =1064 and 514.5nm. The photoluminescence spectrum is evaluated under the excitation at 514.5nm. The absolute domination of hypersensitive 5D0(cid:1)7F2 transition is observed. The ultranarrow 5D0(cid:1)7F0 transition in RbEu(MoO4)2 is positioned at 580.2nm being 0.2nm blue shifted, with respect to that in Eu2(MoO4)3.

Damage and photoluminescence analysis of RbTiOPO4 crystals induced by europium ion implantation
摘要: RbTiOPO4 crystals were implanted by 400keV europium (Eu) ions to a fluence of 5×1015 ions/cm2 at room temperature. Additive isochronal thermal annealing processes were performed subsequently in Ar atmosphere at 600°C and 700°C for 30min. The lattice damage and elemental distributions in the crystals were investigated by Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS) and RBS in channelling mode (RBS/C) using 1.4 MeV and 2.1 MeV He+ ions. RBS/C results reveal that Eu implantation led to lattice damage and formation of amorphous layer at the surface. Thermal annealing at 600°C results in partial damage recovery. The increase of annealing temperature caused further decrease of damage and Eu to diffuse to both sides. The photoluminescence (PL) measurements of Eu implanted RbTiOPO4 were performed as a function of annealing temperature, the results indicated the defects induced by implantation reduce the luminescence activation. The luminescence performance was improved significantly after annealing, a strong main peak appeared at 612 nm, and the other peak distributions coincide with the excitation characteristics of Eu. The profiles of PL spectra of annealed sample remain almost the same at temperatures from 5K to 300K, suggesting good luminescence stability of the Eu doped RbTiOPO4 crystal.

Polydopamine-Based Tumor-Targeted Multifunctional Reagents for Computer Tomography/Fluorescence Dual-Mode Bioimaging-Guided Photothermal Therapy
摘要: Development of multifunctional diagnosis and treatment reagents is very meaningful in clinical application. Herein, we developed a polydopamine-based (PDA-based) tumor targeted multifunctional reagent by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) strategy. First, the targeted PDA nanoparticles were prepared via combining with folic acid (FA) and dopamine. Then ATRP technology was used to graft the europium(III) complexes onto PDA surface (defined as FEDA). A series of detections revealed that the FEDA nanoparticles had been successfully prepared and exhibited a bright X-ray computer tomography (CT) and photoluminescence (PL) dual-mode imaging efficiency and an excellent photothermal therapy (PTT) effect in vivo/in vitro.

Photoluminescence of partially reduced Eu2+/Eu3+ active centers in a NaF–Al2O3–P2O5 glassy matrix with tunable smooth spectra
摘要: In this work, a series of photoluminescent materials have been synthesized based on optically transparent and chemically stable glasses of the nominal composition Na3Al2(PO4)2F3 (NaF–Al2O3–P2O5 system) doped with 1 wt % of europium. It has been shown that the synthesis conditions (mainly the temperature and duration of the melting stage under reducing conditions) strongly affected the photoluminescence spectra of the material. This effect has been ascribed to varying proportions between Eu3+ and Eu2+ ions concentrations, imposed by the synthesis conditions, which was confirmed by XPS, absorption and decay times measurements. As both Eu3+ and Eu2+ centers exhibit photoluminescence in different ranges of the visible spectra (Eu3+ – red, and Eu2+ – mainly blue) the possibility, shown by us, to control relative proportions of the oxidation states of europium and consequently to control the photoluminescence spectra, may be advantageous from the viewpoint of potential applications of such materials as novel phosphors for white LEDs with the emission spectra resembling natural light.

Europium-Catalyzed Aerobic Oxidation of Alcohols to Aldehydes/Ketones and Photoluminescence Tracking
摘要: Europium is a lanthanide rare-earth metal and is known as a key element in luminophore development. Since europium has two relatively stable oxidation states, Eu2+ and Eu3+, which is exceptional among the various lanthanide elements, we have developed a europium-catalyzed aerobic oxidation with external oxidants utilizing the redox cycle of Eu2+/Eu3+. The reaction was performed under mild conditions with a wide substrate scope. The photoluminescence spectra clearly demonstrate the oxidation state changes that occur during the presented europium-catalyzed aerobic oxidation.

Synthesis of broad yellow phosphors by co-doping and realization of high quality of white light
摘要: In order to obtain high quality white light, we synthesized yellow phosphors by doping europium and other lanthanoids such as holmium and lutetium. We successfully obtained yellow phosphors with green emissions with a wavelength of 510 nm for Li2SrSiO4 by co-doping europium and holmium. Unlike single doping of europium, a lower reduction temperature seemed to be preferable. When we simulated the chromaticity of white light at 5000 K, achieved by mixing blue light, which was used for excitation, and this phosphor, it resulted in better quality than commercially available products.

Phase formations and red-luminescence enhancement of Eu3+-activated NaBaY(BO3)2 phosphors
摘要: Eu3+-activated Na1-xKxBaY(BO3)2 (x = 0.1–1.0) phosphor was prepared via facile solid-state reaction ceramic method. The structural Rietveld refinements were completed to confirm the phase formations. The luminescence properties were reported such as photoluminescence excitation (PLE) and emission (PL) spectra, decay lifetime, experimental quantum efficiency (QE) and thermal stabilities. The phase formations and the luminescence properties of the phosphors have a dependence on the K+-substituting for Na+ in the lattices. The results showed that Na1-xKxBaY0.5Eu0.5(BO3)2 (x = 0.1–1.0) phosphors formed the trigonal NaBaY(BO3)2 single phase (Na-phase, space-group of R-3, No.148). Increasing the K+-substituting for Na+ (x ≤ 0.3) induced the appearance of KBaY(BO3)2 phase (K-phase, space-group of R-3 m, No. 166) together with the Na-phase (0.3 < x < 0.6). Heavily K-substituted samples crystallized into a single K-phase. Luminescence characteristics of Eu3+ ions were investigated on the evolution of the substituting-level. It was observed that the phosphors presented the improved emission intensity and thermal stability in the mixed phases.

Two novel ESIPT benzothiazol derivatives and corresponding europium(Ⅲ) complexes: Synthesis and fluorescent properties
摘要: Two ESIPT benzothiazol derivatives and corresponding europium complexes were synthesized and characterized by the 1HNMR spectrum, Mass spectrum, Elemental analysis, UV–Vis analysis, Molar conductivity, Thermogravimetric analysis and FTIR analysis. The fluorescence intensity of the ligands and complexes are compared, and the fluorescence quantum yields are also calculated by the reference method. The results show that two ligands emit orange fluorescence due to the ESIPT process, but both complexes emit red fluorescence after coordinating with Eu3+. Compared with the ligands, the fluorescence intensity and fluorescence quantum yield of the complexes are enhanced, and the monochromaticity is also improved. Because of the stable tetradentate coordination, the fluorescence intensity of EuL7(NO3)3·2H2O is the strongest, and the order of fluorescence intensity is EuL7(NO3)3·2H2O > EuL6(NO3)3·2H2O > Ligand 6 > Ligand 7, so does the fluorescence quantum yields. The electrochemical properties of the complexes show that the HOMO energy level of EuL7(NO3)3·2H2O is higher than that of EuL6(NO3)3·2H2O, but LUMO energy level is lower than that of EuL6(NO3)3·2H2O. These ligands and complexes have potential applications in the field of life sciences and optical materials.
