  • In-Situ Measurement of Outgassing Generated from EUV Metal Oxide Nanoparticles Resist During Electron Irradiation

    摘要: In this study, we prepared the EUV metal resist, which included ZrO2 nano-particle and three type ligands as 2-methyl-2-propenoic acid (MAA), 2-methylpropanoic acid (IBA) and vinylbenzoic acid (VBA). Each resist was prepared by blending each material separately for evaluating the outgassing from EUV resist materials. We prepared three-type samples of ZrO2-MAA, ZrO2-IBA and ZrO2-VBA by coating each resist, and evaluated the outgassing from these samples during irradiation of 2 keV electron by in-situ mass spectrometry. From the results of mass spectrum, we could observe the outgassing of PAG as unique peaks. And each ligand peak was distributed over the low mass range. On the other hand, the ZrO2 peaks could not be observe in mass spectrum of each sample. Thus, we guess that ZrO2 nano-particles might not be evaporating during 2 keV electron irradiation.

  • Flap double twist technique for prevention of LASIK flap striae

    摘要: A novel flap double twist technique was applied to reduce the incidence of post-laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) flap striae. The flap is floated and stroked in the same way as is done for management of first postoperative day striae, where the method is to float and irrigate the flap into position, followed by applying gentle pressure on the flap with a wet Merocel microsponge and moving the flap away from the hinge position. The sponge is then manually squeezed to become drier, and the flap is continuously stroked in a direction opposite to the hinge. Next, the flap is carefully twisted obliquely and sequentially in two opposite directions while applying gentle pressure on the flap in order to completely dehydrate the flap and stromal bed. Finally, the flap is repositioned while applying gentle horizontal pressure in two opposite directions. This novel flap double twist technique shows great success in post-LASIK striae prevention.

  • Raman Spectroscopy through the Indenter Working as an Optical Objective

    摘要: The transparent indenter which can used as an optical objective were tested to obtained a spectra during the indentation. A special device which comprises the transparent indenter and actuator was developed and embedded into the Raman spectrometer. An indentation into the silicon sample was performed and phases that exist under the load and without it were identi?ed.

  • Interface Modulation of Core-Shell Structured BaTiO3@polyaniline for Novel Dielectric Materials from Its Nanocomposite with Polyarylene Ether Nitrile

    摘要: The core-shell structured polyaniline-functionalized-BaTiO3 (BT@PANI) nanoparticles with controllable shell layer thicknesses are developed via in-situ aniline polymerization technology and characterized in detail. The results prove that the PANI shell layer with the adjustable and controllable thicknesses of 3–10 nm are completely stabilized on the surface of the BaTiO3 core. In addition, the BT@PANI nanoparticles are regarded as the hybrid nanofillers to prepare PEN/BT@PANI nanocomposite films with a PEN matrix. The research results indicate that the surface functionalized nanoparticles facilitate the compatibility and dispersibility of them in the PEN matrix, which improves the properties of the PEN/BT@PANI nanocomposites. Specifically, the PEN/BT@PANI nanocomposites exhibit thermal stability, excellent permittivity-frequency, and dielectric properties-temperature stability. Most importantly, the energy density of nanocomposites is maintained at over 70% at 180 °C compared with that at 25 °C. All these results reveal that a new way to prepare the high-performance PEN-based nanocomposites is established to fabricate an energy storage component in a high temperature environment.

  • Early post-LASIK flap amputation in the treatment of aggressive, branching keratitis: a case report

    摘要: Infectious keratitis is rare following laser vision correction. We present a case of aggressive fungal keratitis caused by Aspergillus flavus, following laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) in the setting of a unique environmental risk factor. We describe the key features of the acute case presentation, which guided empirical medical and surgical treatment, resulting in the most favorable outcome found in the literature, to date.

  • Direct in situ observation of electric field assisted densification of ZnO by energy dispersive X-ray diffraction

    摘要: Electric field assisted sintering techniques are used to enhance the densification process, reducing sintering time and temperature. Here, we report the in situ characterization of non-isothermal densification behavior of zinc oxide under simultaneous application of thermal and electric field by energy dispersive X-ray diffraction. 99% density was achieved under the electric field of 50 V/mm in the 588–843 °C range in a short time without grain growth. The in-situ energy dispersive X-ray diffraction study revealed the abnormal volumetric unit cell expansion of 0.9% at 843 °C associated with the observed sudden rise of the power absorption by the specimen during densification. Moreover, the variation in peak broadening as a function of time exhibited singularity in the 588–843 °C range implying the formation and rearrangement of defects correlated with densification during electric field assisted sintering.

  • Synthesis of multifunctional photocatalyst vanadium oxide/activated carbon via in situ utilization of stone coal ore

    摘要: In this work, activated carbon (AC), vanadium oxide (V2O5), and V2O5/AC photocatalyst were prepared by in situ utilization of stone coal ore for the first time. The synthesis conditions for activated carbon (AC) and V2O5/AC were thoroughly investigated via orthogonal experiments and single factor experiments, respectively. The obtained optimal parameters could be directly adopted in practical application about utilization of stone coal ore. The optimal deashing experimental parameters for stone coal ore were: HF concentration of 15%, H2SO4 concentration of 15%, acid leaching temperature of 85 °C, and acid leaching time of 2 h. The as-prepared activated carbon from stone coal ore could be applied to the removal of methylene blue. The as-prepared V2O5/AC photocatalyst possessed a highly visible-light-driven photocatalytic activity for the removal of Rhodamine B (RhB) dye. The RhB degradation ratio could reach to 90.0% after only 3 h photocatalytic reaction. This photocatalyst would be possibly applied to treatment other organic dye wastewater. Actually, this work would extend the application field of stone coal ore. Most importantly, we hope the proposed new concept that in situ utilization of ore can be widely spread and applied.

  • Microscopy and Spectroscopy Study of Nanostructural Phase Transformation from β-MoO3 to Mo under UHV – MBE Conditions

    摘要: We report a simple reduction of molybdenum oxide (β-MoO3) grown on reconstructed Si(100) by thermal annealing in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). By increasing the substrate temperature during deposition or the annealing temperature after growth, the morphologies of as-deposited structures were found to vary from nanoribbons (NRs) of β-MoO3 to nanoparticles (NPs) of Mo. The change in morphologies have been associated with a structural transition from β-MoO3 to MoO2 at 400 °C and MoO2 to Mo at 750 °C. The in-situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements revealed a shift of the Mo 3d peaks towards lower binding energies, representing the reduction in Mo oxidation states until a pure Mo 3d peak at 750°C was observed. The ex-situ KPFM measurements showed a decrease in the local work function (Φ) (from ≈ 5.27 ± 0.05 eV to ≈ 4.83 ± 0.05 eV) with increasing substrate temperature. A gradual reduction of the band gap from ≈ 3.32 eV for β-MoO3 NRs to zero band gap for Mo NPs is also observed during the annealing up to 750 °C.

    摘要: This paper presents an update of the current in-situ antenna characterization and calibration of a radar system using an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) developed by the Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) at The University of Oklahoma. A large multirotor platform was customized for long endurance (~30 minutes), high positioning accuracy (<3 cm), and high stability, and was integrated with a high precision 3-axis gimbal that holds an antenna array and pulse generator-transmitter. The platform was designed to support measurements from 2 GHz to 10 GHz, however, the current setup described in this article includes an S-band array probe of 3x3 elements. The RF probe beamwidth was optimized to minimize reflections from the UAS frame and to provide accurate antenna measurements in flight conditions.

  • Thermal Mapping of a Lithium Polymer Batteries Pack with FBGs Network

    摘要: In this paper, a network of 37 fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors is proposed for real-time, in situ, and operando multipoint monitoring of the surface temperature distribution on a pack of three prismatic lithium polymer batteries (LiPBs). Using the network, a spatial and temporal thermal mapping of all pack interfaces was performed. In each interface, nine strategic locations were monitored by considering a three-by-three matrix, corresponding to the LiPBs top, middle and bottom zones. The batteries were subjected to charge and discharge cycles, where the charge was carried out at 1.0 C, whereas the discharge rates were 0.7 C and 1.4 C. The results show that in general, a thermal gradient is recognized from the top to the bottom, but is less prominent in the end-of-charge steps. The results also indicate the presence of hot spots between two of the three batteries, which were located near the positive tab collector. This occurs due to the higher current density of the lithium ions in this area. The presented FBG sensing network can be used to improve the thermal management of batteries by performing a spatiotemporal thermal mapping, as well as by identifying the zones which are more conducive to the possibility of the existence of hot spots, thereby preventing severe consequences such as thermal runaway and promoting their safety. To our knowledge, this is the first time that a spatial and temporal thermal mapping is reported for this specific application using a network of FBG sensors.
