Investigating the Role of Glass and Quartz Substrates on the Formation of Interfacial Droplets
摘要: Nanostructuring has been proved effective towards improving many energy storage and conversion devices, and is feasible for a wide range of materials. In particular, secondary nanoarchitectured materials exhibit collective advantages compared with nano-sized primary building blocks. Despite the manifold efforts in designed nanoarchitectures and synthetic routes, the underlying ion diffusion kinetics and phase transformation behaviors within nanoarchitectures still remain less explored. Herein, we probed enhanced lithium-ion transport behaviors using 2D holey zinc ferrite (ZFO) nanosheets as a model material, to demonstrate how self-assembled 2D holey nanoarchitectured electrodes can feature efficient ion diffusion channels, robust yet continuous electron transfer framework, and enlarged surface area, contributing to the superior performance over the ZFO nanoparticles without secondary structures. By revealing kinetic parameters through combined spectroscopic measurements and electrochemical techniques, our study manifests increased lithium-ion diffusion coefficients, higher capacitive charge storage contribution and reduced charge transfer impedance in holey nanosheets compared to randomly aggregated nanoparticles. Our results promote deeper understanding of significantly enhanced electrochemical energy storage properties of these 2D holey nanoarchitectured electrodes resulted from more uniform and complete phase transformation and better active material utilization.

Value-adding of organosolv lignin: Designing mechanically robust UV-resistant polymeric glass via ARGET ATRP
摘要: To date, very few studies have reported on the relationship between live birth gender and embryo development kinetics. This study included 1735 women undergoing in vitro fertilization or intracytoplasmic sperm injection by using a time-lapse system. Finally, a total of 228 qualified patients with 100% implantation and known live birth information were included in the analysis. There were 174 male live births and 134 female live births. The time to 3 (t3), 4 (t4), and 5 (t5) cell development of male embryos was significantly shorter/earlier than female embryos (P < 0.05). The duration of the second cell cycle (cc2) in male embryos was significantly shorter than female embryos (P = 0.002). Multivariate logistic regression showed that only t3 had a significant correlation with live birth gender; the odds ratio (OR) was 0.786, 95% confidence interval (CI) was 0.625–0.988 (P < 0.05). When morphokinetic parameters were divided into groups based on quartiles, embryos within the sex ranges were observed to have significantly different proportions of male and female live births (P < 0.05). The results showed that t3 (<14 h) was the most relevant parameter related to live birth gender (OR 2.452, 95% CI 1.071–5.612, P = 0.03). These findings support the idea that embryo morphokinetic parameters were affected by the sex of the embryo. Currently, embryologists use embryo morphokinetics to establish models of development, in order to improve accurate selection of viable embryos. Thus, this factor needs to be considered when embryologists use embryo morphokinetics to select embryos.

Effect of solvents on the self-assembly of long chain alkylphosphonic acids on indium tin oxide surface - In situ studies on the adsorption kinetics and electron transfer process
摘要: The spontaneous self-assembly process of phosphonic acids (PAs) onto indium tin oxide (ITO) surface has been studied in this work. We have carried out in situ adsorption kinetics studies of phosphonic acids in ethanol as a solvent using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Further, the effect of different solvents like ethanol, water, toluene and hexane on the structural integrity of the alkylphosphonic acid (CH3 (CH2)n PO3H2, n = 15,17) thin films on ITO surface has been investigated by using [Fe(CN)6]3-/4- as a redox probe. From the study of formation kinetics, it is concluded that molecular self-assembly process follows two adsorption steps, a fast first step followed by a slower second step. The results of cyclic voltammetric (CV) and impedance measurements show that phosphonic acids form a highly impermeable surface film on ITO when polar solvents like ethanol and water are used.

摘要: Photocatalytic imaging of blood flow using a pulsed laser diode of semiconductor blood flow aggregation and oxygenation saturation (sO2) estimation. During blood flow aggregation, the oxygen saturation of the blood flow is affected by the interaction between red blood cell (RBC) aggregation and the oxygen saturation (sO2) [1-7]. The mechanism of the aggregation is not yet fully understood. To date, two models, namely the bridging and depletion models, are proposed for explaining the kinetics of RBC aggregation [20-21]. Using the proposed models, new efforts have been published to investigate the kinetics of RBC aggregation [22-24]. In this paper, a simple particle motion model in two-dimensional (2D) space was introduced to understand the photothermal imaging of blood flow aggregation from the flow model. The flow model consisted of 125 elements spaced at 10 μm center-to-center, yielding a lateral length of 22.0 mm. The incident laser fluence was less than 10 mJ/cm2, below the safety limit by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for these wavelengths. The photothermal power (PTP) was computed from the flow model at each time step, and the simulated PTP was compared to the measured PTP in vivo. From the comparison, the kinetics of RBC aggregation was studied.

Real-time profiling Anti-EpCAM Based Immune capture, from Molecules to Cells using MP-SPR
摘要: Antibodies of epithelial cell-adhesion-molecule (anti-EpCAM)-based interfaces have proven to be highly efficient at capturing circulating tumor cells (CTCs). To achieve the bonding of anti-EpCAM to the interface, biotin and streptavidin are used to modify the surface. These processes are critical to subsequent cell-capture efficiencies. However, quantitative research on the interactions between biotin, streptavidin and biotinylated anti-EpCAM on the interface is lacking. In this work, the thermodynamics and kinetics of biomolecular interactions were determined by using surface plasmon resonance. The equilibrium binding affinities for biotinylated anti-EpCAM to streptavidin and streptavidin to biotin (illustrated by biotin-PEG400-thiol) were found to be 2.75×10^6 M^-1 and 8.82×10^6 M^-1, respectively. Each streptavidin can bind up to 2.30 biotinylated anti-EpCAM under thermodynamic equilibrium. The findings provide useful information to optimize the modification of anti-EpCAM and improve the capture efficiency of CTCs.

Crystallization kinetics and thermal stability of ZrO <sub/>2</sub> monolithic aerogel improved by SiO <sub/>2</sub> layer
摘要: ZrO2 aerogel modified by SiO2 (ZSA) was synthesized by aging ZrO2 gel in tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) solution using ZrOCl2·8H2O as precursor, and 1,2-propylene oxide (PO) as gelation agent followed by ethanol supercritical fluid drying. Crystallization kinetics and thermal stability of ZSA while calcined at elevated temperature were studied comparing with pure ZrO2 aerogel. The prepared samples were characterized using TG-DSC, N2 adsorption/desorption, SEM and TEM. The results show that thermal stability of ZSA are highly improved due to the SiO2 layer hindering the proliferation, nucleation and growth process of ZrO2.

Growth of perovskite nanocrystals in poly-tetra fluoroethylene based microsystem: On-line and off-line measurements
摘要: Cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystals are photoelectric nanomaterials that have potential applications in a variety of areas due to their excellent photoelectric and tunable photo luminescent properties. In this work, we investigate the synergetic effects of reaction temperature, reaction-capillary length and flow rate on the growth kinetics of perovskite nanocrystals in PTFE-based microsystem and the photoluminescence characteristics of the synthesized nanocrystals both online and offline. The on-line measurement finds that increasing the reaction temperature leads to the increase of the wavelength of the PL emission peak of the nanocrystals synthesized at different reaction temperatures decreases with the increase of the flow rate. The off-line measurement reveals that increasing the flow rate generally leads to the blueshift of the PL emission peaks and the decrease of the average size of the perovskite nanocrystals synthesized at the reaction temperature of 160 oC in the capillary length of 60 cm. Increasing temperature leads to the increase of the emission wavelength of the perovskite nanocrystals from 560 nm to 608 nm. The temperature dependence of the average size of the synthesized nanocrystals with the same synthesis conditions at different temperatures can be described by the Arrhenius relationship with an activation energy of 8.54 kJ/mol. Five different cross-sections of the synthesized perovskite nanocrystals are observed, including rhombus, hexagon, rectangle, square and quadrangle with three of them being observed for the first time.

摘要: ZnSe nano thin films were obtained with chemical bath deposition in an modified aqueous alkaline solution in which ammonia was eliminated complexing agent in our present work. The as-deposited films are transparent, specula reflective and homogenous. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy indicated that films were in near stiochiometric Zn:Se ratio. Measured by spectroscopic ellipsometry, thickness of 50~370nm film can be obtained, the ZnSe were in nano-films, morphology and the film formation process discussion indicated that the film grow through nano-cluster by nano-cluster deposition rather than ion by ion mechanism. Absorption of the annealed films in visible light area indicated that bandgap is around 2.8eV for the annealed ZnSe film obtained from modified ammonia free solutions, corresponding to the standard band gap for bulk ZnSe materials.

Squaraine dyes: interaction with bovine serum albumin to investigate supramolecular adducts with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties
摘要: Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA)–squaraine supramolecular adducts with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties were prepared and characterized by spectroscopic methods. While squaraine dyes showed very low fluorescence quantum yield in water, a great enhancement in the fluorescence of the aggregated BSA adducts was achieved due to the abnormal aggregation-induced emission properties of squaraines. The adducts formation was studied from a kinetic point of view showing unexpected structure-properties relationships.

Fabrication of IR windows grade zinc selenide by the reactive diffusive process
摘要: The preparation of infra-red windows grade zinc selenide (ZnSe) by the reactive diffusion process between liquid zinc and selenium was the goal of present work. In this regards, high purity zinc and Se elements with a nominal composition of Zn50Se50 were capsulated in quartz ampoule and annealed in the temperature range of 550-950 °C. The wurtzite structure of zinc selenide phase was successfully obtained during annealing process beyond 750 oC. The hexagonal structure of zinc selenide was an unstable phase and totally transformed to the cubic construction by increasing the annealing temperature (950 °C) that is appropriate for infra-red windows application. The formation of zinc selenide phase during the annealing process has been performed by the development of an unceasing layer of porous zinc selenide compound in zinc/ selenium interface. The formation of porous zinc selenide can be associated to the different diffusion constants of selenium and zinc atoms in zinc selenide lattice based on the Kirkendall theory.
