摘要: In this work, a bridge element approach based on the circular SRR configuration is proposed for accurate measurement in terms of complex permittivity and the loss tangent. It is observed that the proposed inter-connected bridge structure based on split ring resonator provides better sensitivity for dielectric measurement when compared with the standard microwave SRR sensors. The sensor operating at 1 to 6 GHz frequency range with 2.5μL sample volume at a time. The mathematical derivation is generated by loading sample with a standard reference of the materials in order to develop the empirical model for the determination of complex permittivity and the loss tangent. As demonstrated by the results, the unloaded Q-factor improves more than 400 over the narrow bandwidth at operating frequency of 2.3 GHz and provides less than 5 dB of the insertion loss. The measured data of each sample are in good agreement with the corresponding reference values available in the literature having a typical average detection error of less than 2.04%. By comparison, this design has an identical performance goal and provides excellent sensing capability which can be implemented in chemical and biosensor applications.

Electrochemical etching of lightweight nanotips for high quality-factor quartz tuning fork force sensor: atomic force microscopy applications
摘要: Commercially available quartz tuning forks (QTFs) can be transformed into self-sensing and actuating force sensors by micro-assembling a sharp tip on the apex of a tine. Mass of the tip is critical in determining the quality (Q)-factor of the sensor, therefore, fabrication of the lightweight nanotips is a precondition for high Q-factor QTF sensors. The work reports fabrication of very lightweight tungsten nanotips with a two-step electrochemical etching technique which can be used to develop high Q-factor QTF force sensor. First, a tungsten wire with protective coating at one end (1–2 mm) is etched with a trapezoidal waveform to form a lengthy (~2–5 mm) and slender (diameter ~10–40 μm) micro-needle. In the second step, sharp tip apex is fabricated with a direct current etching. High Q-factor (6600–8000) QTF force sensors have been developed with the fabricated nanotips. Atomic force microscope scanning of nano-grating and a triblock copolymer surface validates the scanning performance of the developed sensors.

[Papers] A Multi Spectral Imaging System with a 71dB SNR 190-1100 nm CMOS Image Sensor and an Electrically Tunable Multi Bandpass Filter
摘要: This paper demonstrates a multi spectral imaging system utilizing a linear response, high signal to noise ratio (SNR) and wide spectral response CMOS image sensor (CIS), and an electrically tunable multi bandpass optical filter with narrow full width at half maximum (FWHM) of transmitted waveband. The developed CIS achieved 71dB SNR, 1.5 × 107 e– full well capacity (FWC), 190-1100nm spectral response with very high quantum efficiency (QE) in near infrared (NIR) waveband using low impurity concentration Si wafer (~1012 cm-3). With the developed CIS, diffusion of 5mg/dl glucose into physiological saline solution, as a preliminary experiment for non-invasive blood glucose measurement, was successfully visualized under 960nm and 1050nm wavelengths, at which absorptions of water molecules and glucose appear among UV to NIR waveband, respectively.

Perturbation approach for computing frequency- and time-resolved photon correlation functions
摘要: We propose an alternative formulation of the sensor method presented in Phys. Rev. Lett. 109, 183601 (2012) for the calculation of frequency-?ltered and time-resolved photon correlations. Our approach is based on an algebraic expansion of the joint steady state of quantum emitter and sensors with respect to the emitter-sensor coupling parameter (cid:2). This allows us to express photon correlations in terms of the open quantum dynamics of the emitting system only and ensures that computation of correlations are independent on the choice of a small value of (cid:2). Moreover, using time-dependent perturbation theory, we are able to express the frequency- and time-resolved second-order photon correlation as the addition of three components, each of which gives insight into the physical processes dominating the correlation at different time scales. We consider a bioinspired vibronic dimer model to illustrate the agreement between the original formulation and our approach.

摘要: An Electrically Small antenna with narrow bandwidth suitable for nearfield sensor application is presented. The operation principle is based on a Distributed Reactive Nearfield Parasitic Element (DRNPE). The DRNPE unit cell with high distributed inductive reactance is introduced near a highly capacitive open ended CPW transmission line, provides a high impedance matching. The resonant frequency is independent of the transmission line parameters and hence can be tuned with respect to the DRNPE parameters. The prototype used as a sensor for the measurement of dielectric constant variation is also discussed. The simulation is carried out using Ansoft HFSS and measurement using HP8510C Vector Network Analyzer.

摘要: Photovoltaic (PV) Systems are becoming vital for the existence of mankind nowadays. From bulk power generation to space exploration applications, PV systems finds an important role. To extract power from PV device it has to be operated at its Maximum Power Point(MPP) for which different MPPT algorithms are used. On a relative study of these different MPPT algorithms it is found that most of them suffers from certain problems such as highly oscillatory response and slow tracking time. Most of these algorithms uses both current and voltage sensors, this adds to the issue of reliability of such MPPTs. Here in this study, a Single voltage sensor based Adaptive MPPT is using different MPPT compared with MATLAB/SIMULINK simulations.

摘要: The aim of the study was to evaluate whether it is possible to extract the information about the gas concentration despite the influence of humidity. Commercial semiconductor sensor response was examined under the application of a periodic temperature change. The data was collected using measurement protocol for different concentrations of ammonia at specified levels of relative humidity. In this work we focused on the evaluation of the Discrete Wavelet Transform analysis results obtained during experimental investigation of the single semiconductor gas sensor in the presence of humidified atmosphere containing ammonia. The results of the analysis show that proposed method enable the possibility of determine the low concentrations of ammonia.

摘要: Photodiodes detect the separation of charge carriers in a semiconductor upon irradiation with photons. Recently, new high sensitivity low noise photodetector-integrator based on a PIN diode with embedded gate-control potential barrier was developed. In the study of its characteristics, were observed effects of external particles on the surface of the substrate. In this paper, we studied the effect of surface charges on the potential distribution and charge carriers motion in such PIN diode by means computer simulation using the software Comsol Multiphysics. The appropriate mechanism of surface charge operation was revealed and estimated. The obtained results broaden the possibilities of using this PIN diode as a radiation detector, a particle detector, a biochemical sensor, etc.

摘要: Dynamic recognition of objects labeled by visible light IDs is numerically investigated for obtaining a high optical signal-to-noise ratio in received optical signals when a relative motion between the objects and observer considerably alters. An averaging effect of pixel values in an image sensor shows a trade-off between reductions in accumulated image sensor noises and spatially varying noises originating from the relative motion. Our results suggest that a real-time optimization of the averaging process is suitable for an efficient recognition of visible light IDs toward applications for the disaster risk reduction.
