  • Phenanthroline-Derivative Functionalized Carbon Dots for Highly Selective and Sensitive Detection of Cu2+ and S2? and Imaging inside Live Cells

    摘要: Developing effective methods for the instant detection of Cu2+ and S2? is highly desired in the biological and environmental fields. Herein, a novel fluorescent nanoprobe was elaborately designed and synthesized by grafting a phenanthroline derivative onto the surface of carbon dots (CDs). The obtained functionalized CDs (FCDs) exhibited blue fluorescence (FL) with excellent photostability and possessed a mean diameter around 4 nm. Cu2+ can be selectively captured by the phenanthroline group of FCDs to generate an absorptive complex in situ, leading to obvious quenching of the FCDs’ FL signal through an inner filter effect. Furthermore, the FL of the FCD–Cu2+ can be effectively recovered by S2? anions due to the release of FCDs from the FCD–Cu2+ complex owing to the formation of stable CuS (Ksp = 1.27 × 10?36) between S2? and Cu2+. The detection limits of the FCDs were determined to be 40.1 nM and 88.9 nM for Cu2+ and S2?, respectively. Moreover, this nanoprobe can also be used for the imaging of intracellular Cu2+ and S2?, which shows strong application prospects in the field of biology.

  • Synthesis of eight isostructural 2D lanthanide coordination polymers assembled by rigid furan-2,5-dicarboxylic acid and flexible adipic acid as linkers and exploration of luminescent Eu/Tb polymers as efficient and sensitive sensors for nitroaromatic compounds

    摘要: Detection of hazardous chemicals is crucial for a healthy and safe environment as well as for the well-being of humans. A confluence of chemistry and engineering continues to improve the sensitivity and selectivity for several classes of harmful chemicals with the promise of cheap and portable sensing. Herein, following the function-oriented research strategy, eight novel lanthanide coordination polymers (Ln-CPs) have been successfully assembled with the framework composition [Ln(2,5-FDC)0.5(Adip)(H2O)2] (Ln = Nd (1), Sm (2), Eu (3), Gd (4), Tb (5), Dy (6), Ho (7), Er (8), 2,5-FDC2? = furan-2,5-dicarboxylate, Adip2? = Adipate) under solvothermal synthesis conditions. The structural analysis indicates that all the eight CPs have the same structural features. All compounds crystallize in the orthorhombic crystal system (space group Pnma) with point symbol {33·44·53} and consist of 2D cem topological type. The linkers 2,5-FDC2? and Adip2? exhibit μ2-κ4,Z1:Z1:Z1:Z1 and μ3-κ5,Z2:Z1:Z1:Z1 coordination modes respectively. The as-synthesized polymers were characterized by powder X-ray crystallography, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and photoluminescence studies. CP-3 and CP-5 are promising luminescent lanthanide coordination polymers (Ln-CPs) and function as efficient sensors for the detection of nitroaromatic compounds at the ppm level in mix N,N′-dimethyl formamide-aqueous medium via the luminescence quenching mechanism.

  • Morphological evolution of Co phosphate and its electrochemical and photocatalytic performance

    摘要: Three novel 3D calcium-based metal–organic frameworks (FJU-67, FJU-68, and FJU-69) established on naphthalene diimide chromophores have been synthesized, which exhibit unique multiple interpenetrated networks with dia net topologies. It is noticeable that the shape and size of the second carboxylic ligands can directly influence the mode of the interpenetrated frameworks. Linear dicarboxylic acid H2BDC or NH2-H2BDC ligands can yield 5-fold interpenetrated frameworks, while 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid (H2NDC) ligand with a longer length and slight angle can produce a 4-fold (2 + 2) framework. Among the three Cd-MOFs, FJU-67 and FJU-69 with a relatively pale color exhibit reversible photochromism via the radical formation of NDI units and interpenetrating packing has a definite impact on their photochromic behaviors.

  • Two topologically different 3D Cu <sup>II</sup> metal–organic frameworks assembled from the same ligands: control of reaction conditions

    摘要: Bifunctional ligands containing both carboxylic and sulfonate groups can adopt versatile coordination modes to produce novel metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with high-dimensional networks and interesting topologies. Using 2,20-disulfonylbiphenyl-4,40-dicarboxylic acid (H4L) as a linker and 4,40-bipyridine (4,40-bpy) as a co-ligand, two novel 3D CuII MOFs, {[Cu2(L)(4,40-bpy)2.5(H2O)](cid:2)1.7H2O}n, (1), and {[Cu2(L)(4,40-bpy)2](cid:2)DMA(cid:2)3H2O}n, (2), have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography (DMA is N,N-dimethylacetamide). MOF (1) shows an unprecedented trinodal 4,4,5-connected network with the Schla¨ ?i symbol (4.62.73)(43.65.7.8)(6.73.8.10), while MOF (2) indicates a binodal 4,6-connected fsc network with the Schla¨ ?i symbol (44.610.8)(44.62). MOFs (1) and (2) were further characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis. MOF (1) shows a high water and chemical stability. The proton conductivity of (1) and CO2 adsorption of (2) were also investigated.

  • A series of lanthanide coordination polymers based on flexible bis?(imidazole?4,5?dicarboxylate) ligand: Syntheses, structures and fluorescent properties

    摘要: A series of lanthanide coordination polymers, namely {[Ln(HL)(H2O)2]·H2O}n (Ln= Ce(1), Pr(2), Nd(3), Eu(4) and Tb(5); H4L = 1,1'-(propane-1,3-diyl)bis(1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid)) have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by infrared spectroscopy, element analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analyses. These isostructural complexes exhibit a 3D framework with a sra topology built by HL3? anions μ4?bridging metal ions through two IDC groups in different coordination modes. The luminescent property of complexes containing Eu(III) and Tb(III) have also been investigated in detail.
