  • Low-phase noise 8.22 GHz GaN HEMT oscillator using a feedback multi-path transformer

    摘要: This article designs a low-phase noise 8.22 GHz GaN high electron-mobility transistor (HEMT) oscillator in the WIN 0.25 μm GaN HEMT process. The oscillator uses a HEMT amplifier with a transformer as the feedback network. The transformer uses a 3-path secondary inductor and a single-path primary inductor. The GaN oscillator consumes the power 4.328 mW and generates a signal at 8.22 GHz with an output power ?11.35 dBm. At 1 MHz frequency offset from the carrier at 8.22 GHz the phase noise is ?120.82 dBc/Hz, the figure of merit of the proposed oscillator is ?192.76 dBc/Hz. The oscillator chip occupies an area of 2 × 1 mm2.

  • Complete and Nondestructive Atomic Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-State Analysis Assisted by Invariant-Based Inverse Engineering

    摘要: A protocol to realize complete and nondestructive atomic Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ)-state analysis in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) systems is presented. In this protocol, the three information-carrier atoms and the three auxiliary atoms are trapped in six separated cavities, respectively. After ten-step operations, the information for distinguishing the eight different GHZ states of the three information-carrier atoms is encoded on the auxiliary atoms. Thus, by means of detecting the auxiliary atoms, complete and nondestructive GHZ-state analysis with high success probability is realized. Moreover, the driving pulses of operations are designed as a simple superposition of Gaussian or trigonometric functions by using the invariant-based inverse engineering. Therefore, the protocol can be realized experimentally and applied in some quantum information tasks based on complete GHZ-state analysis with less physical entanglement resource.

    摘要: The characterization of physically small antennas in the millimeter-wave range has proven to be a challenge. Several research groups have developed new antenna measurement systems to be able to characterize millimeter-wave antennas. These measurement systems mainly focus on the establishment of a well-defined connection between test equipment and the antenna-under-test (AUT) for radiation pattern measurements. However, uncertainties affecting the measurement results are not always well understood. We have investigated the effect of misalignment, the effectiveness of an anechoic environment for frequencies up to 90 GHz and the impact of spurious radiation of the probe.

    摘要: This work provides Antenna in package (AiP) implemented on Advanced single sided substrates (aS3 package) , which utilizes low-cost substrate and low-cost assembly process. The dipole antenna implemented on aS3 package results in a peak gain of 5 dBi at operating frequency band. The return loss of < - 10 dB bandwidth is from 65 to 81 GHz. The resonant rectangular series-fed patch array implemented on aS3 package results in a peak gain of 8 dBi at operating frequency band. The return loss of < - 10 dB bandwidth is from 76 to 81 GHz. The antenna performance of antenna on aS3 package meets the requirements of 77 GHz automotive radar systems. This work also discuss with the impact of fabrication inaccuracies on the antenna bandwidth and gain. For 77 GHz automotive radar application, the corner analysis of process variation supports correct antenna performance and a short time to market.

  • 60-GHz 2-D Scanning Multibeam Cavity Backed Patch Array fed by Compact SIW Beam-Forming Network for 5G Applications

    摘要: This paper presents a 2x2 multibeam array employing a novel wideband linearly polarized cavity-backed patch antenna for fifth generation (5G) wireless communication technology. The antenna array comprises four layers stacked on top of one another. The proposed antenna element is composed of three substrate layers and excited using a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) aperture-coupled feed. The antenna element exhibits -10-dB impedance bandwidth of 36.2% from 53 to 76.4 GHz with very flat gain and excellent radiation characteristics. A prototype is fabricated and tested. The compact 2-D scanning multibeam 2x2 antenna array is demonstrated at 60-GHz, where the proposed antenna element is utilized as a radiating element. By employing a novel compact beam forming network (BFN) in the design, the proposed array achieves a size reduction of better than 28% compared to an array fed with conventional BFN, without degradation in the array performance. A wide bandwidth larger than 27 % for |S11|<-10 dB and a peak gain of 12.4 dBi is achieved. The array shows a good symmetrical radiation pattern in the two perpendicular planes. Verified by prototype measurements, the proposed antenna element and multibeam array with features of a compact structure, low cost, wide bandwidth and superior radiation performance, would be practically attractive for 5G applications.

  • Deterministic Joint Remote State Preparation of an Arbitrary Equatorial Three-Qubit State

    摘要: We propose a new scheme for joint remote preparation of an arbitrary equatorial three-qubit state by using three three-qubit GHZ states as the quantum channel. In our scheme, eight different projective measurement basis vectors are needed. It is shown that the successful probability of our scheme is 100% by performing the appropriate unitary operations.

  • Decoupling Beam Steering and User Selection for MU-MIMO 60-GHz WLANs

    摘要: Multi-user transmission at 60 GHz promises to increase the throughput of next-generation WLANs via both analog and digital beamforming. To maximize the capacity, analog beams need to be jointly configured with user selection and digital weights; however, joint maximization requires prohibitively large training and feedback overhead. In this paper, we scale multi-user 60-GHz WLAN throughput via design of a low-complexity structure for decoupling beam steering and user selection such that analog beam training precedes user selection. We introduce a two-class framework comprising: 1) single-shot selection of users by minimizing overlap of their idealized beam patterns obtained from analog training and 2) interference-aware incremental addition of users via sequential training to better predict inter-user interference. We implement a programmable testbed using software-defined radios and commercial 60-GHz transceivers and conduct over-the-air measurements to collect channel traces for different indoor WLAN deployments. Measurements are conducted using a 12-element phased antenna array as well as horn antennas with different directivity gains to evaluate the performance of practical 60-GHz systems. Using trace-based emulations and high resolution 60-GHz channel models, we show that our decoupling structure experiences less than 5% performance loss compared with maximum achievable rates via joint user-beam selection.

  • A Restricted Quantum Deniable Authentication Protocol Based on GHZ States

    摘要: Utilizing the property of unitary transformation and Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states, a restricted quantum deniable authentication protocol is proposed. The protocol can provide that the sender can deny the content of the sent message, but cannot deny taking part in a certain communication. Security analysis results show that this protocol can satisfy known key security and the basic security requirements of restricted deniable authentication protocol such as completeness, restricted deniability, no-counterfeiting and can withstand impersonation attack, intercept-resend attack.

  • Design and Simulation of a Slot Waveguide Array Antenna (SWAA) for Satellite Communications

    摘要: One of the most used antennas today, is that of slots in waveguides. These antennas are an important type within the microwave range with various applications in electronic communications systems, radar, and satellite applications, due to its high power capacity, high efficiency, low weight, compact structure and few lateral lobes, all added together to its proven resistance to radiation, high temperatures and vibration, characteristics without which they can not be used in aerospace applications. The following lines show the design and simulation of a Slot Waveguide Array Antenna (SWAA) for satellite communications in the 30 GHz band. The antenna will be approximately 170x170 mm, constituted by 24x24 slots. It will be fed by waveguides in a lower layer connected to the radiating guides through slots. The modeling and design of the different elements that make up the power grid as T- junctions and elbows in the E and H planes were carried out.

  • POWER-COMBINED MULTIPLIERS AT 60 GHZ BASED ON FUNDAMENTAL FREQUENCY VECTOR MODULATION

    摘要: High output power multiplier is necessary for local oscillator (LO) source of millimeter-wave and terahertz applications. However, single multiplier chip power-handling capability is limited by understandably low efficiency level and other technical constraints. Conventional in-phase power-combined structures are sensitive to the fabrication and assembly errors. In order to circumvent these limits, we propose a power-combined multiplier architecture at 60 GHz based on fundamental frequency vector modulation at 30 GHz. The fundamental vector modulator adjustment can compensate the phase deviation at the two doubler output ports despite fabrication and assembly tolerances. We can increase the output power by approximately 3 dB compared with single multiplier without sacrificing the bandwidth.
