摘要: High performance dual circularly polarized X-band microstrip patch antenna for satellite communication is presented in this paper. The high performance refers to high return loss, high isolation, high gain >8.5dBi and low cross polarization with axial ratio<2dB throughout the bandwidth 8–8.4GHz. This performance is achieved by using stacked substrate with square patch on the top layer and a 90? hybrid coupler on the bottom layer. The patch is electromagnetically coupled through the two apertures present on the ground plane which is fed by the branchline coupler present on the bottom substrate. Simulated and measured results shows that this basic element can be extended to form a phased array antenna due to its less weight,compact structure and high performance.

摘要: A broadband tri-polarization reconfigurable magneto-electric dipole antenna is presented in this paper. This proposed antenna structure mainly consists of a conventional ME antenna fed by a Γ-probe, four parasitic patches, a rectangular ground plane and four PIN diodes including their corresponding bias circuit. The size of the rectangular ground plane is of 250×180 mm2 and its profile is of 50 mm. Each of the four PIN diodes is controlled by its corresponding bias circuit independently. The proposed antenna is capable of providing three different polarization states including one linear polarized operation mode and two orthogonal circular polarized modes. The simulated overlapped bandwidth (S11≤-10 dB) is about 59% (1.36 GHz~2.5 GHz) for the one linear polarized mode and 78.7% (1.07 GHz~2.46 GHz) for the two orthogonal CP modes. In additional, the simulated overlapped 3-dB AR bandwidth is about 37.2% from 1.2 GHz to 1.75GHz. Detailed design considerations of the proposed antenna are described in the following sections.

摘要: The results of a study on the expansion of the frequency range of vibrational curved whip and loop antennas are presented. Optimal designs of these antennas with concentrated reactive loads included in the shoulders are proposed. The study was carried out for a design that appears promising for use as a microstrip antenna. It is a Z-shaped antenna of orthogonal linear polarization and loop antenna, supplemented by concentrated capacitive loads. It is shown that in order to obtain in the Z-shaped antenna and loop antenna a regime of a current close to the traveling wave regime and to obtain broadband, it is sufficient to include no more than four capacitive loads of a certain value in the antenna arm. This makes the construction of a broadband antenna and to reduce the expenditure of time and resources for its development and fabrication in comparison with known works in which it was proposed to include in the arm of the antenna a much larger number of reactive loads.

摘要: A novel miniaturized cavity-backed sector antenna for VHF (Very High Frequency) applications is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna is composed of two symmetrical meandering lines, a planar double-sector patch and a U-shaped backed-cavity. Two symmetrical meandering lines are used to achieve size reduction by connecting four ends of the double-sector patch. Moreover, a U-shaped backed-cavity is employed to improve directivity and achieve better gain. The proposed has a very compact size of 36cm×40cm×25cm (0.13λ0×0.15λ0×0.09λ0), which could bring considerable benefits for the design of UAV system. Simulated results show that the antenna achieves a return loss better than 10dB over 31% impedance bandwidth. The gain of this antenna is more than 2dBi. With features such as small size, wide bandwidth and good directivity, the proposed antenna can meet the demanding requirements to the application of UAV airborne system.

Broadband Circularly Polarized Filtering Antennas
摘要: This paper consists of two parts. The first part presents a review of the recent development in broadband circularly polarized filtering antennas. The second part presents a novel design of broadband integrated filtering antenna based on eighth-mode SIW (EMSIW) resonators for rectenna applications. This work has three main novel contributions: (i) By adjusting the external quality factors and coupling coefficients of the resonators in this filtering antenna, optimum input impedance with a complex value can be realized within the filtering antenna. Thus there is no need for an external impedance matching network, which is usually required between the antenna and the rectifying circuits; (ii) Compared with traditional microstrip resonators, high-Q EMSIW cavities are used to increase antenna gain; (iii) The coupling gap between the EMSIW resonators also acts as the feeding structure of the radiator. So the feeding structures are all on the middle layer. The ground plane on the back side is a complete structure without any defects. This novel structure design improves front-to-back ratio to enhance the antenna receiving efficiency. To validate this method, two C-band circularly polarized integrated filtering antennas with an input impedance of 50 Ω and complex impedance are designed, simulated and fabricated. The measured results show that the operating frequency bandwidth of the proposed antennas is more than 14.5% at C band with the gain above 8 dBi. The 3 dB Axial Ratio (AR) bandwidth is larger than 8.5% and the front-to-back ratio is higher than 18 dB. Moreover, the proposed antenna with complex impedance is conjugate matched with the input impedance of a specific rectifying circuit at 5.8 GHz and harmonics suppression at the 2nd harmonic frequency is achieved.

摘要: This paper presents a novel multi-frequency GNSS antenna based on a dielectric resonator (DR) with in-band filtering. The antenna is based on a conventional hollow cylinder DR with four feeding ports. It introduces a novel concept so called "decoupling network". The "decoupling network" is an engineered surface conformal to the inner wall of the DR and it contributes to the antenna realized gain, impedance bandwidth and provides narrow-band notch-filter like suppression of antenna radiation between 1.34 and 1.41 GHz. In case of the GNSS antennas, the radiation suppression between 1.3 and 1.56 GHz is desirable to reject in-band interference from the L-band satellite and terrestrial communication signals. The "decoupling network" also contributes to the coupling reduction between the feeding ports.

摘要: A novel broadband and slant ±45? dual-polarized antenna element with compact structure is presented in this paper for LTE700/CDMA800/GSM900 bands applications. The proposed antenna mainly comprises of two pairs of orthogonal dipoles, four couples of baluns, an octagonal pedestal and two kinds of plastic fasteners. A square aluminum sheet is placed between adjacent dipoles to widen the impedance bandwidth of the antenna. Simulated and measured results show that the proposed antenna element has a wide impedance bandwidth of 31.60% with VSWR < 1.6 from 698 to 960 MHz at both ports. High port-to-port isolation (< ?25 dB) and stable radiation pattern with horizontal half-power beam width (HPBW) of 65?±6.4? are achieved within the whole working band. The antenna is suitable for existing 2G/3G/4G base station applications.

摘要: A novel flexible magneto-dielectric (MD) substrate with high permeability (μr) and permittivity (εr) is developed in this work, and the excellent capability of the novel material for realizing miniaturized and broadband flexible antenna is demonstrated. The MD substrate is mainly comprised of NiZnCo ferrite and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) through extrusion technology and obtains relatively high μr around 4.5 and εr around 9.0 over a wide frequency range of 10 MHz–1 GHz. A benchmark structure of square microstrip patch antenna was simulated using the common polyimide (PI) flexible substrate and the developed MD substrate, respectively, and MD substrate proves remarkable miniaturization effect. Based on the developed MD substrate, a miniaturized patch antenna working at ultrahigh frequency (UHF) 915 MHz was designed. The overall size of the antenna is 40×40×1 mm3, which is only one-quarter size of the PI substrate antenna. Also, the impedance bandwidth (S11<-10 dB) is enhanced from 8 MHz (910–918 MHz) to 30 MHz (900–930 MHz) for the MD substrate antenna.
