1:Experimental Design and Method Selection
The laser is based on a linear cavity using an NALM as one end-mirror, incorporating a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror with an intracavity nonreciprocal phase shifter for self-started mode-locking.

A short segment of PM fiber is angle-spliced to the NALM to function as a PM Sagnac loop filter.

Wavelength-division multiplexer (WDM), fiber-pigtailed polarization beam splitter (PBS1, Thorlabs, PBC1550PM), Erbium-doped fiber (EDF) (nLight Liekki, Er80-4/125-HD-PM), single mode laser diode operating at 980 nm, fiber collimator (COL), nonreciprocal phase shifter, polarization beam splitter cube (PBS2), quarter waveplate (QWP2), full-reflective mirror (M).
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow
The laser operates at stretched-pulse mode-locking regime. The output coupling ratio and intra-cavity loss are finely tuned by QWP2 to achieve switchable single-wavelength or dual-wavelength mode-locking states.
5:Data Analysis Methods
The output spectrum is continuously recorded within 90 min to investigate the long-term stability. The repetition rate difference between the two mode-locking pulse trains is recorded with a frequency counter.
