研究目的
Investigating the synthesis of poly?uorene with a pinacol boronate (PinB) moiety at one end and with controlled molecular weight by means of Suzuki–Miyaura coupling polymerization.
研究成果
AmPhos Pd G2 and cataCXium A Pd G3 were effective catalysts for synthesizing poly?uorene with PinB at one end, with molecular weight controlled by the feed ratio of monomer to catalyst. The polymerization involved chain-growth polymerization through intramolecular catalyst transfer, though the broad molecular weight distribution suggests slow initiation and termination processes.
研究不足
The molecular weight distribution was broad, possibly due to slow initiation and slow termination with the chain terminator, rather than polymer–polymer coupling.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The polymerization was carried out using Suzuki–Miyaura coupling polymerization of monomer 1 with a palladium(0) precatalyst in the presence of chain terminator 2 and CsF/18-crown-6 as a base.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Monomer 1 was prepared similarly to the literature method, and chain terminator 2 was purchased from commercial suppliers.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Instruments included JEOL ECA-500 and ECA-600 spectrometers for NMR, JASCO FTIR-410 for IR spectra, and a Shimadzu GC-2010 Plus gas chromatograph.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The polymerization was conducted under argon, with the reaction mixture stirred at room temperature, followed by quenching with NH4Cl and extraction with chloroform.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Molecular weight and dispersity were measured by GPC, and polymer end groups were analyzed by MALDI-TOF MS.
