研究目的
To analyze analog electro-optic modulator linearization techniques employing modulation of multiple distinct carriers with differing modulation efficiencies and to formulate the problem of compensation of nonlinear distortions above 3rd order in electro-optic links to optimize spur free dynamic range using truncated Fourier series.
研究成果
The study relates composite modulation techniques for RF photonic link linearization to Fourier analysis techniques, developing a qualitative understanding of SFDR performance for linearized modulator techniques. It shows that a good approximation to a target transfer function can be synthesized by applying an appropriate windowing function to a truncated Fourier series expansion of the desired transfer function.
研究不足
The analysis assumes time invariant transfer functions for the link model, which may not fully compensate for nonlinearities contributed by link components other than the modulator over extremely wide bandwidths due to their time variant nonlinear response.
