研究目的
To introduce an innovative architecture consisting of two identical (twin) MCF interferometers in series that are interrogated in reflection mode for precision sensing, addressing the difficulty of discriminating the target parameter from unwanted external perturbations.
研究成果
The architecture can be used to devise compact, cost-effective accelerometers, vibration and bending sensors, among others. The interrogation is simple and can be carried out with commercially available sensor interrogators. The effect of temperature can be compensated as two interferometers participate.
研究不足
The effect of temperature and other perturbations (strain, bending, etc.) on the interferometers is still under study. The feasibility of devising intensity-modulated sensors is also being investigated.
