To study the role of chirp and the relative phase between the fundamental and its second harmonic in the formation of the terahertz waveform and to demonstrate that the combination of chirping and relative phase shifting can provide a powerful tool to control the waveform of the terahertz pulse.

The negative effect of the dispersion in the system can be compensated by the relative phase change between the fundamental and its second harmonic light pulse. Collectively changing the fundamental pulse duration and the relative phase between its second harmonic is a promising tool to control the waveform of the THz pulse. These tools are relevant and useful in THz spectroscopy and THz imaging.
研究不足
The model calculations have simplified assumptions, such as neglecting the 3rd and higher ionization and photodissociation. The differences between the model and the measurement results may originate from these simplifications and the nonlinear propagation effects in the plasma.
