1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study involved laser welding of DP980 steel sheets at both room temperature and high temperature (526 °C) to observe microstructural and hardness changes. The high-temperature procedure used inductive heating to reduce cooling rates and promote bainite formation instead of martensite.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
1-mm thick dual phase class DP980 sheets were used, with chemical composition provided by ArcelorMittal.

A fiber laser (IPG, model YLR-2000), induction furnace, pyrometer Metis MP25, optical microscopy (Zeiss, model Imager2M), scanning electron microscopy (Hitachi, model TM-3000), and Vickers hardness tester (FutureTech FM-800) were used.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Sheets were butt-welded using the fiber laser with specific parameters for full penetration. Temperature profiles were recorded, and microstructural analysis was conducted post-welding.

Microstructural features were analyzed using optical and scanning electron microscopy. Hardness was measured using Vickers hardness tests. Residual stresses and bending were estimated using finite element software (SysWeld, ESI-Group).
