研究目的
To evaluate the therapeutic effect and safety of a 595-nm pulsed-dye laser (PDL) for treating facial spider nevi (SN) in children.
研究成果
The 595-nm PDL is a safe and effective laser modality for SN. The small-spot-combined-with-large-spot method is especially suitable for children with a central spider body diameter of larger than 1 mm.
研究不足
This was a retrospective study, and the efficacy and safety of 595-nm PDL should ideally be confirmed in a randomized controlled trial. The sample size was relatively small.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A retrospective study was conducted on 110 children with facial SN treated with a 595-nm PDL. Patients were divided into the small-spot-combined-with-large-spot group (SL-group) and the large-spot group (L-group) based on the treatment method.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Data from 110 patients with facial SN treated between January 2016 and February 2018 were collected.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
A Candela PDL system (Vbeam Perfecta; Candela Corporation, Wayland, MA, USA) was used.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Treatments were performed by the same laser practitioner with specific parameters for each group.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0 software for Windows.
