研究目的
To present results of emittance measurements carried out at SwissFEL, including a description of the novel high-resolution measurement techniques and the optimization procedure, and to demonstrate the feasibility of generating x-ray FEL radiation with much lower-energy electron beams than presently operating FEL facilities.
研究成果
The study achieved slice emittances as low as 200 nm for 200 pC beams and 100 nm for 10 pC beams, setting new standards for electron linear accelerators. These low-emittance beams have produced FEL radiation with a wavelength of 0.1 nm and pulse energies above 0.5 mJ, demonstrating the feasibility of generating x-ray FEL radiation with much lower-energy electron beams.
研究不足
The study is limited by the resolution of the profile monitor and the constraints of the lattice design. Space-charge effects and other collective effects may also affect the measurements.
