研究目的
Discuss laser driver requirements for novel accelerator schemes, examine emerging technologies, and introduce a viable laser driver concept for a first generation of plasma accelerators.
研究成果
The first generation of high-quality laser-plasma accelerator design is progressing rapidly and requires new ultrashort pulse laser drivers with high average power and stability. Ti:Sa based systems may provide a short-term solution for kW scale drivers, while higher rep-rate solutions will rely on more efficient direct DPSS CPA laser technology.
研究不足
The main limitations include the current lack of laser systems with kW average power and up to petawatt-scale peak power at high repetition rates, the thermal management challenges in high average power operation, and the need for further development in diode pump sources and amplifier designs for higher rep-rate systems.
