研究目的
To evaluate Buck Converter and LLC Resonant Converter in terms of efficiency, volume and cost using different switching frequencies supplying an LED load of 180W.
研究成果
Results show that overall efficiency is equivalent to both designs. The buck converter presented efficiency loss concentrated on its switching elements, while the LLC converter has a better equalization of its loss distributions and presents a good efficiency with smaller volume at higher frequencies with the penalty of its high relative cost of implementation.
研究不足
The study focuses on specific switching frequencies and an LED load of 180W, which may not cover all possible applications or conditions.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
Theoretical losses calculation and industrial feedback were used to compare the proposed converters.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
An 180W full range streetlight solution from Zagonel company was used as a reference.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Buck and LLC Resonant converters, LED load of 180W, various switching frequencies.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The Buck converter was evaluated under 33kHz, 60kHz and 100kHz, and the LLC Resonant converter was evaluated under 100kHz, 140kHz, 180kHz, and 220kHz. Both converters were dimmed from 100% to 20%.
5:0%. Data Analysis Methods:
5. Data Analysis Methods: Efficiency, volume, and cost were compared between the two converters.
