研究目的
To present an automated registration method based on optical flow for an adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscope to align and average images for obtaining a higher signal-to-noise ratio image.
研究成果
The proposed method for image registration of AO-SLO images successfully cancels relative global shifts and relative local distortions by global registration and optical flow based local registration, respectively. It provides high SNR AO-SLO images of the in vivo posterior eye and has the advantage of large registration degrees of freedom for aligning images with complex distortions. This method may be helpful for standard ophthalmic examinations as well as the study of ophthalmology.
研究不足
The study acknowledges the high complexity and randomness of fixational eye motion, including saccades, drifts, and tremor, making eye motion induced AO-SLO image distortions difficult to model. Future research could explore the correlation-based optical flow method for stitching narrow-field AO-SLO images to obtain a wide-field AO-SLO image.
