研究目的
To assess if surgical safety can be improved by intraoperative use of intraocular lens (IOL) for cataract phacoemulsification.
研究成果
Intraoperative use of IOL can improve surgical safety for dense cataract phacoemulsification by reducing the risk of PCR, improving BCVA, and reducing endothelial cell loss and central corneal thickness increase.
研究不足
The study was limited to patients with age-related cataracts and nuclear hardness denser than Grade III. The follow-up period was short, and the study was conducted at a single center.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted to compare the effectiveness of intraoperative intraocular lens use on improving surgical safety for dense cataract phacoemulsification. Patients were randomly assigned into three groups with different surgical settings.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
401 patients diagnosed with age-related cataracts and nuclear hardness denser than Grade III were recruited. Inclusion criteria included a pupil diameter of 7 mm or larger and corneal endothelial cell count greater than 1200/mm
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Alcon Infiniti System, MicroTip 0.9 mm ABS phaco tip, ProVisc (1% sodium hyaluronate), foldable IOL (ZCB00, AMO), Anterior Segment Imaging VISANTE OCT 1000, microscope (SP-2000 P, Topcon).
4:9 mm ABS phaco tip, ProVisc (1% sodium hyaluronate), foldable IOL (ZCB00, AMO), Anterior Segment Imaging VISANTE OCT 1000, microscope (SP-2000 P, Topcon). Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
4. Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow: All surgeries were performed with a standard quick chop technique. The last nuclear quadrant was emulsified by different methods in each group. Postoperative outcomes were evaluated by another ophthalmologist.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 22.0 for Windows 10.0 software. The one-way ANOVA and LSD post-hoc multiple comparisons were used to evaluate the difference between groups.
