研究目的
To review the fundamental and practical aspects of plasmonics along with the recent advances in plasmonic-active nanostructured thin films (PANTFs) synthesis, focusing on the advantages and shortcomings of the fabrication techniques, and to provide an overview of different types of PANTFs and their sensitivity for biosensing.
研究成果
PANTFs have garnered huge attention in the field of plasmonics due to their ability to couple light with surface plasmons, causing simultaneous excitation of SPP and LSPR. This has implications for improving and miniaturizing plasmonic and photonics-based devices and integrating them with microfluidics, quartz crystal microbalance, and electrochemical devices. More work is needed to improve sensitivity and simplify the system for commercial use.
研究不足
The review highlights the limitations of various fabrication techniques, such as the time-consuming and costly nature of EBL, the poor reproducibility of individual nanostructures, and the need for improved sensitivity and simplification of systems for commercial use.
