To demonstrate a compact equivalent circuit model for transmission-line representation of monocrystalline silicon solar cell suitable for characterization in terms of impedance/admittance spectroscopy and transient effect simulations in external electrical circuits.

The compact equivalent circuit model with a reasonable finite number of stages adequately represents different solar cell layers with minimal partition and is parametrically dependent on bias and illumination conditions. It shows good correlation for low-frequency characteristics, both for impedance and capacitance calculations, even with the smallest number of absorber partition stages.

The model's sensitivity to partition width, especially in representing low-injection capacitance related to majority carrier storage in the vicinity of the p-n junction (depletion capacitance), with some discrepancy for the largest partition of 500 nm.
