To review studies on the singular optics of scalar wave fields, generalize the study results of the processes of origination and annihilation of phase singularities, examine the methods for singular phase reconstruction, and analyze the energy, statistical, and topological properties of vortex optical beams propagating through a turbulent atmosphere.

The studies carried out at IAO SB RAS made a significant contribution to the formation of singular optics, including the development of techniques for wavefront dislocation correction, calculation of statistical moments of orbital angular momentum of a laser beam in a turbulent atmosphere, and synthesis of vortex optical beams with a variable OAM using a fiber laser array.
