研究目的
To examine the benefits of different numbers of 1064-nm Nd-YAG laser treatments in patients with onychomycosis.
研究成果
The 1064-nm Nd-YAG laser has clinical benefits against onychomycosis, without any side effect. Higher numbers of treatments provide better benefits at 24 weeks, but the number of treatments had no impact on the short-term outcomes (8 and 16 weeks). The efficacy of laser treatment on degree II onychomycosis was better than for degree III.
研究不足
A mycology assessment was not conducted and the follow-up was relatively short.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
Patients with onychomycosis were divided into three groups based on the number of treatment sessions (4, 8, or 12) with a long-pulse Nd-YAG 1064-nm laser.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
102 patients with 442 infected nails of degrees II–III (Scoring Clinical Index for Onychomycosis) were included.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Long-pulse Nd-YAG 1064-nm laser (Beijing Shiji Guangtong Biotechnology Co., Ltd.).
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Treatment was given once a week, with follow-ups at 8, 16, and 24 weeks.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Efficacy rates were compared among groups using statistical analysis.
