To obtain uniform blue-green emissive GQDs and modified efficient orange-emitting graphene quantum dots (D-GQDs) derived from fullerene (C60) under acid-free condition for applications in white LEDs.

The study successfully synthesized high-efficiency orange emissive D-GQDs with a quantum yield of 52.4% and demonstrated their application in white LEDs. The luminescent films showed excellent flexibility and white emission properties, meeting commercial requirements.

1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The GQDs were synthesized via a persulfate-assisted one-step redox method to open C60 under acid-free conditions. D-GQDs were prepared by modifying GQDs with 2,3-diaminonaphthalene (DAN).

Equipment includes JEOL JEM-2100F electron microscope, SPM-3100 microscope, ESCALAB 250 spectrometer, Edinburgh FLS980 spectrofluorometer, Nicollet 380 infrared spectrophotometer, Renishaw inVia Raman spectrometer, NETZSCH STA 449C analyzer, Kratos Axis Ultra DLD system. Materials include C60, potassium monopersulfate (oxone), N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA).
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
GQDs were synthesized by reacting C60 with oxone in DMF under solvothermal conditions. D-GQDs were prepared by reacting GQDs with DAN. Luminescent films were prepared by blending GQDs and D-GQDs with PVA.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The quantum yield was measured using quinine sulfate as the standard. PL spectra, time-resolved decay lifetimes, and other optical properties were characterized using the mentioned equipment.
