The use of spectral models for soiling transmittance estimation significantly improves the accuracy of soiling loss detection for different PV materials under various irradiance conditions. Optimal wavelength combinations for two or three measurement models were identified, which minimize the errors in soiling transmittance estimation. These models are more robust to measurement errors compared to single wavelength measurement techniques.

The study was conducted at a single location, and the conclusions should be validated for a larger number of locations experiencing more significant soiling losses. Additionally, the empirical relationships used should be further validated using other datasets.
