1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study involves adjusting the dispersion design in the laser cavity to generate three types of solitons. A segment of dispersion compensation ?ber (DCF) is inserted into the cavity to provide net normal dispersion.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The thulium-doped ?ber serves as the gain medium. The dispersion is changed by reducing anomalous-dispersion ?ber in the cavity.

The net cavity dispersion was gradually tuned by shortening the single mode ?ber (SMF) in the cavity. The characteristics of output pulses were measured using an optical spectrum analyzer, an InGaAs photodetector, and a real-time digital storage oscilloscope.

The relationship between spectral bandwidth and cavity dispersion was analyzed.
