研究目的
To present a structured illumination (SI) surface profiling method that is fast and has a depth-independent image magnification ratio, utilizing an electrically tunable lens (ETL) for rapid and motionless scanning of the object plane.
研究成果
The proposed SI imaging technique using an ETL provides a fast, magnification-invariant surface profile image of 3D objects. It achieved a scanning depth variation of 35 mm with a magnification ratio variation below 0.03 and demonstrated the ability for 3D profiling. The method is suitable for applications requiring fast scanning, such as intraoral scanners or biomedical imaging.
研究不足
The system's performance might be affected by misalignment of the ETL or relay lenses, and the ETL's uncoated membrane surfaces cause high reflection, which was mitigated but not completely eliminated.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study utilized an ETL for rapid depth scanning and a 4f relay system to minimize magnification ratio changes. Polarization optics were used to bypass high reflection at the ETL surfaces.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
A cone-shape 3D object and a face-shape plaster figure were imaged to demonstrate the system's 3D profiling ability.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
ETL (EL-10-30-C-VIS-LD-MV, Optotune), relay lenses (AC254-100-A-ML, Thorlabs), LED (M470L3, Thorlabs), linear polarizer (LPVIS100-MP2, Thorlabs), camera (MQ003CG-CM, XIMEA).
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The ETL was placed at the confocal plane of a 4f relay system. The scanning sequence was switched to perform depth scan before pattern shift for faster scanning.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The change in magnification ratio was measured by imaging a resolution target at different scanning distances.
