研究目的
To numerically analyze functional post-wall waveguides formed by periodically distributed dielectric posts and to calculate the propagation constant and attenuation constant using a developed numerical method, aiming to achieve strong field confinement in the guiding region and to realize functional dielectric post-wall waveguide-based filters for THz applications.
研究成果
The numerical study demonstrates promising results of field confinement in a 2-layered waveguide structure, with about 65% of the power transmitted in a 1-layered structure. The research aims to improve guiding characteristics for 1-layered dielectric post-wall waveguides and to develop PWW respective filter structures for mm-waves up to THz frequencies.
研究不足
The study is preliminary, focusing on numerical analysis without experimental validation. The confinement of the field in the guiding region for dielectric rods is still an open research issue, and the practical application in THz region requires further investigation.
