研究目的
Investigating the ground-state transition widths and natural level widths of nuclei 6Li and 140Ce using the method of relative self absorption to provide insights into the decay pattern of the pygmy dipole resonance.
研究成果
The RSA method provides high-precision measurements of ground-state transition widths and branching ratios, offering detailed insights into the decay patterns of nuclei. For 6Li, a relative uncertainty of ~1.1% was achieved for the decay width. For 140Ce, the study revealed that strongly excited states predominantly decay directly to the ground state, while more weakly excited states also decay via intermediate states, providing valuable data for testing the nuclear statistical model in the energy regime of the pygmy dipole resonance.
研究不足
The Debye temperature of 6Li in Li2CO3 is not yet measured, which is crucial for the analysis of RSA measurements. Additionally, the resolution of the experiment may not separate closely spaced levels, leading to overestimated self absorption values.
