研究目的
Investigating the efficiency of synthesized iron-nickel bimetallic nanoparticles for the colour removal of C. I. Reactive Blue 21 dye, optimizing operational conditions, and studying the kinetics and influence of alkali and salt on decolourization.
研究成果
The study successfully demonstrated the use of PVP stabilized Fe-Ni-NPs for the efficient decolourization of RB21 dye under optimized conditions. The process followed first-order kinetics, achieved over 90% dye decolourization, and resulted in significant reductions in COD and BOD values with minimal sludge generation. The findings suggest potential applications in textile wastewater treatment.
研究不足
The study focuses on the decolourization of a specific dye (C. I. Reactive Blue 21) using Fe-Ni bimetallic nanoparticles. The influence of other dyes or pollutants was not investigated. The scalability of the process for industrial applications was not addressed.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
Synthesis of Fe-Ni bimetallic nanoparticles using sodium borohydride as a reducing agent and PVP as a capping agent to prevent agglomeration. Characterization of NPs using TEM, XRD, and EDX.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Commercial dye C. I. Reactive Blue 21 was used without further purification.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Ferrous sulfate, nickel chloride, sodium borohydride, PVP, acetic acid, ethanol, soda ash, and Glauber salt.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Batch decolourization studies were conducted under various conditions of pH, NPs concentration, and initial dye concentration. Samples were analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometry.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The decolourization efficiency was calculated, and kinetic studies were performed using first and second-order models. Degradation products were analyzed using FTIR and GC-MS.
