The IZO nanocomposites were successfully synthesized by a simple solid-state method. IZO50 exhibits enhanced photocatalytic degradation efficiency towards ROX, attributed to effective photogenerated charge separation. The photocatalytic degradation occurs mainly due to holes and hydroxyl radicals.
