研究目的
To design a see-through head-mounted display (HMD) that can present the user with information such as virtual symbols or images superimposed over real-world image, meeting the human eyes’ visual requirements under different situations with a large exit pupil.
研究成果
The paper presents a near eye display based on surface relief grating and waveguide, offering low-cost solutions for augmented reality applications. Two schemes are provided, each with its own advantages and suitable applications. The design can also achieve full color display with multiple layers of waveguide.
研究不足
The one-dimensional exit pupil expansion scheme has disadvantages in the vertical eye box and large aberrations. The two-dimensional expansion scheme increases the difficulty in nanoimprint lithography process but is suitable for applications requiring a large eye box.
