研究目的
To show the site-sensitive Fe 2p core-level photoelectron spectra of magnetite Fe3O4 by combining photoelectron diffraction technique and photoelectron spectroscopy.
研究成果
By using photoelectron diffraction spectroscopy technique, we have succeeded in obtaining site-sensitive spectra of magnetite at Fe 2p core level. The results have shown the clear difference in XPS spectral shape at different FFP directions in soft X-ray energy range. The simulations suggested that this difference is caused by the different Fe emitter sites. Thus, by selecting the specific FFP directions and measuring the binding energy dependence of the FFP intensity, we succeed in detecting the site-selective contributions (A-site and B-site) in the photoelectron spectra of magnetite at room temperature. Combined technique of 2D-PED and XPS can hence be reliably used to study the electronic structure of a system where two or more nonequivalent atoms exist in a unit cell.
