To improve the photo-generated electron-hole pairs separation of BiOBr by coupling novel bismuth oxyfluoride or other species containing bismuth, and to assess their photocatalytic performances by degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light illumination.

The BiOBr/Bi2O3/BiO0.67F1.66 ternary composites showed enhanced photocatalytic performances compared to pure BiOBr, attributed to their larger specific surface areas and multiple charge carrier transfer pathways. The composite with Br/F molar ratio of 1:1 achieved the highest activity, degrading 98.61% of RhB after just 15min irradiation.

1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
BiOBr/Bi2O3/BiO
2:67F66 ternary composites were prepared via a facile chemical precipitation method. Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The samples were prepared by adjusting the molar ratio of Br to F in the reaction system.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Bi(NO3)3·5H2O, NaBr, NH4F, tetrahydrofuran (THF), and deionized water were used as the bismuth source, bromine source, fluorine source, and reaction medium, respectively.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The reaction system was subjected to magnetic stirring for 5 h at room temperature. The product was separated centrifugally, washed with ethanol and deionized water, and dried in air at 80°C.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The photocatalytic performances were evaluated by RhB photo-degradation under visible light illumination.
