To develop a simple and mild strategy for synthesizing free-standing two-dimensional (2D) conjugated covalent organic framework (COF) films linked by C-C bonds using Suzuki polymerization on a liquid/liquid interface.

The work successfully opened the door for using Suzuki reaction to synthesize C-C bonded 2D conjugated COFs on a liquid/liquid interface under very mild conditions. The synthesized films exhibit large lateral size, naked-eye visibility, and some internal order, demonstrating the strategy's potential for producing various 2D conjugated COFs.
