1:Experimental Design and Method Selection
A nanostructured TiO2 coating was prepared on a titanium plate using surface mechanical alloying (SMA) treatment. The coating's photocatalytic activity was evaluated by the decolorisation of aqueous rhodamine-B under UV–vis light irradiation.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources
Commercial titanium sheets were used as substrates. TiO2 powder and rhodamine-B (RB) were of analytical grade.

SPEX mill (SPEX/8000M, 230V/50 Hz), SEM (Zeiss Ultra 55), EDS (Oxford X-MaxN 50), XRD (X’Pert Pro PW3040/60), HRTEM (JEM-ARM200F), surface profilometer (Alpha-Step IQ), UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) (Varian, CARY 100 Conc.), UV–vis spectrophotometer (Mapada, UV-1800).
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow
The titanium sheets were polished, then subjected to SMA treatment with TiO2 powder in a ball-milling chamber. The coating was characterized by SEM, EDS, XRD, HRTEM, and its photocatalytic activity was tested by UV–vis decolorisation of RB.
5:Data Analysis Methods
The photocatalytic degradation efficiency was determined by measuring the RB concentration under UV–vis light irradiation using a UV–vis spectrophotometer.
