Color-tunable emission can be obtained by adjusting the doping concentration of Tm3+ ions in Tm3+/Er3+-co-doped Gd2O2S phosphors under 980 nm diode laser excitation. The obtained color tunability from green to red regions of the visible spectra has great potential in optical displays, fluorescent microprobe, biomedicine multi-color displays and near-infrared light-emitting diodes, etc.
