研究目的
To propose and demonstrate an all-fiber magnetic field sensing structure based on a microfiber knot resonator (MKR) cladded with magnetic fluid (MF), aiming to promote the development of magnetically controllable optical devices and the design of ultra-compact cost-effective magnetic field sensors.
研究成果
The MKR combined with MF is effective for magnetic field sensing, with the resonance wavelength varying approximately linearly with the applied magnetic field. The sensitivity increases as the diameter of the MKR decreases, achieving a maximum sensitivity of 277 pm/mT for a ring diameter of 155 μm. The sensor is easy to fabricate and integrate with traditional optical fibers, making it suitable for various microphotonic devices.
研究不足
The proposed sensor cannot determine the sign of the magnetic field. Additionally, the polarization of incident light and the relative orientation between the magnetic field and MKR plane may affect the sensing properties.
