  • Anomalies in Photovoltaic Characteristics of Multijunction Solar Cells at Ultrahigh Solar Light Concentrations

    摘要: An anomaly appearing in the photovoltaic characteristics of triple-junction GaInP/GaAs/Ge and of the corresponding double-junction GaInP/GaAs solar cells at ultrahigh concentrations (more than 2000 suns) of incident light has been studied. The light current–voltage characteristics at various concentration ratios of incident light and the dependence of the open-circuit voltage on the photogenerated current were analyzed. It was shown that the anomaly is observed due to the tunnel diode connected back-to-back between the GaInP and GaAs subcells. This diode absorbs photons that pass across the GaInP layers and creates a counter photovoltage.

  • Light-Emitting Diode Spectral Sensitivity Relationship with Growth, Feed Intake, Meat, and Manure Characteristics in Broilers

    摘要: Light-emitting diode (LED) light sources have high potential for replacing traditional incandescent lamps in broiler production. LEDs with short wavelengths (480 and 560 nm) have been reported to stimulate broiler growth. However, short-wavelength stimuli might also have potential negative effects on husbandry workers, which has restricted the application of LED technology to broiler production. In this study, we investigated the effect of human-friendly yellow LED light (580 nm), which is close to the wavelength of 560 nm and acceptable for humans, on broiler growth response. We further evaluated the effects of various LED lights on the feed intake and manure characteristics of broilers. The following seven light treatments were tested: red LED light (R group), yellow LED light (Y group), green LED light (G group), blue LED light (B group), purple LED light (P group), white LED light (W group), and incandescent bulb light (I group). We used a 12:12 light:dark cycle, as described in our previous study. The feed and water usage of each group were recorded daily, while body weight and manure weight were determined weekly. Manure from each group was sampled for subsequent analysis. We found that the effects of the LEDs on broiler growth were age-related. Broilers in the Y, G, and B groups had similar body weights. However, the relative body weight gain ratio of broilers in the Y group was always greater than those of broilers in the other groups, particularly those in the I group (p = 0.003). The mass ratio of water usage to feed consumption was highest in the R group, whereas the Y group had the lowest mass ratio. Analysis of manure characteristics showed that manure production was positively correlated with feed intake, and broilers in the Y group produced the lowest amount of manure. The water intake of the broilers and the moisture content of the manure were also positively correlated, suggesting that the lower moisture content of the Y group manure might be caused by decreased water intake. These findings suggest that human-friendly yellow LED light might be a good alternative to green LED, blue LED, and incandescent lamps and can successfully be applied to broiler production.

    摘要: Previous studies have shown that liquid crystal display (LCD) can cause visual fatigue to the human eye, but the effect of quantum dot (QD) display has not been explored yet. This study conducted a human factor experiment on the QD display and LCD. The parameters ACC, HOAs and MTF were selected as objective physiological indicators for visual quantification of visual fatigue. 39 participants performed a 45-minute video viewing task. While before and after the visual task, measured the physiological parameters of the participants' eyes. Analysis the effects of QD display and LCD on human physiological characteristics under the same conditions. The results show that: (1) The QD display and LCD have an influence on the physiological characteristics of the human eye during continuous visual task duration. These effects can be quantified by changes in human eye physiological parameters; (2) The effect of QD display on human eye physiological parameters is less than LCD: the VICO index (visual comfort index) is lower, and the participants' color feedback accuracy is higher. This study provides theoretical basis and data support for the subsequent development of quantum dot display.

    摘要: The transverse-load characteristics of long period fiber gratings (LPFGs) fabricated by 800 nm femtosecond laser are demonstrated and investigated. It is observed that the resonant wavelength of LPFG is dependent on the direction of applied force. When a transverse load is applied along different orientations of the LPFG, the resonant wavelength will experience red shift or blue shift. However, the transmission attenuation is gradually decreases as the applied transverse-load increases, which is independent of the direction of applied force. This is mainly due to the asymmetrical distribution of the refractive index on the cross-section of LPFG induced by femtosecond laser pulses, the load-induced birefringence lead to the rotation of optical principal axes in the LPFG.

  • THE TEMPORARY CHARACTERISTICS OF VACUUM DISCHARGE WITH LASER IGNITION

    摘要: A study was made of the switching process of a vacuum discharger ignited by a pulsed solid-state laser operating in the Q-switched mode. The dependence of the response time on the energy of the igniting pulse of laser radiation and the thermodynamic characteristics of the target material has been demonstrated. On the basis of the experimental data, it was suggested that under the action of a laser pulse in the erosion products of the electrodes an initial glow discharge is ignited, which, as a result of the development of ionization-superheating instability, undergoes a contraction of the current channel and turns into an arc channel.

  • Influence of Se on Properties of As-S-Se-I Glass for Immersion Mid-IR Leds Lenses

    摘要: The study of glass components influence on the physical and chemical properties of As–S–Se–I glasses has the potential to help design glasses with the required properties. A change of certain glass properties upon the introduction of selenium into AsSI glass was demonstrated. Non-stoichiometric compounds along the As2S3-AsI3-Se diagram section were investigated by differential thermal analysis, ultrasonic measurements, dilatometric measurements. It has been shown that the introduction of selenium decreases the glass solubility in water. Change in the glass properties with the change in the short-range structure studied by Raman spectroscopy was shown. These glasses can be used for creation of immersion lenses and optical adhesives which change radiation characteristics of mid-IR LEDs.

  • Planar perovskite solar cells using triazatruxene-based hyperbranched conjugated polymers and small molecule as hole-transporting materials

    摘要: Conjugated polymers have been widely used as hole-transporting materials (HTMs) in planar perovskite solar cells (p-PSCs) and play a vital role in hole transport. In this work, based on triazatruxene (TAT), two hyperbranched conjugated polymers (named as TATF8HBP and TATSFHBP) and a star-shaped carbazole-functionalized small molecule (named as TATCz3) are employed as HTMs in p-PSCs with a well solubility. The differences of these materials between carrier mobility, hole extraction and transmission are investigated due to their discrepancy in molecular structure, leading to their photovoltaic performances sequence as follows: TATF8HBP (11.11%) > TATSFHBP (9.48%) > TATCz3 (0.87%). In addition, the short-circuit current density (Jsc), open circuit voltage (Voc) and fill factor (FF) of p-PSCs show the same trend as PCE does. The results reveal that TATF8HBP exhibits the best performance as a hole-transporting layer (HTL) since the polymer chain and its fluorene unit contribute to the hole transport.

  • Automated active fault detection in fouled dissolved oxygen sensors

    摘要: Biofilm formation causes bias in dissolved oxygen (DO) sensors, which hamper their usage for automatic control and thereby balancing energy- and treatment efficiency. We analysed if a dataset that was generated with deliberate perturbations, can automatically be interpreted to detect bias caused by biofilm formation. We used a challenging set-up with realistic conditions that are required for a full-scale application. This included automated training (adapting to changing normal conditions) and automated tuning (setting an alarm threshold) to assure that the fault detection (FD)-methods are accessible to the operators. The results showed that automatic usage of FD-methods is difficult, especially in terms of automatic tuning of alarm thresholds when small training datasets only represent the normal conditions, i.e. clean sensors. Despite the challenging set-up, two FD-methods successfully improved the detection limit to 0.5 mg DO/L bias caused by biofilm formation. We showed that the studied dataset could be interpreted equally well by simpler FD-methods, as by advanced machine learning algorithms. This in turn indicates that the information contained in the actively generated data was more vital than its interpretation by advanced algorithms.

  • Research and application of key technologies for medical image intelligence knowledge discovery and data processing

    摘要: The hospital has accumulated a large amount of medical image data which needs to be analyzed and integrated so as to be able to find the needed medical image in time, which is the basis of key technologies such as intelligent diagnosis of diseases. Meanwhile, through the analysis and integrated processing of medical image, the potential value of existing medical image data can be fully explored. In this paper, the key technologies in the intelligent image knowledge discovery system and the characteristics of medical image data are studied and improved. In this paper, the characteristics of knowledge discovery and medical image data are comprehensively considered, and RDM texture features are selected as the feature representation of medical images. An improved RDM operator is proposed and proved by experimental results. Experimental results show that the improved RDM coding method can improve the stability of medical image data expression.
