摘要: The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the effective deployment of a robotic assessment tool for the evaluation of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) patients in a busy, resource-constrained, urban emergency department (ED). Methods: Functional integration of new robotic technology for research in the ED presented several obstacles that required a multidisciplinary approach, including participation from electrical and computer engineers, emergency medicine clinicians, and clinical operations staff of the hospital. Our team addressed many challenges in deployment of this advanced technology including: 1) adapting the investigational device for the unique clinical environment; 2) acquisition and maintenance of appropriate testing space for point-of-care assessment; and 3) dedicated technical support and upkeep of the device. Upon successful placement of the robotic device in the ED, the clinical study required screening of all patients presenting to the ED with complaints of head injury. Eligible patients were enrolled and tested using a robot-assisted test battery. Three weeks after the injury, patients were contacted to complete follow-up assessments. Results: Adapting the existing technology to meet anticipated physical constraints of the ED was performed by engineering a mobile platform. Due to the large footprint of the device, it was frequently moved before ultimately being fully integrated into the ED. Over 14 months, 1423 patients were screened. Twenty-eight patients could not be enrolled because the device was unavailable due to operations limitations. Technical problems with the device resulted in failure to include 20 patients. A total of 66 mTBI patients were enrolled and 42 of them completed both robot-assisted testing and follow-up assessment. Successful completion of screening and enrollment demonstrated that the challenges associated with integration of investigational devices into the ED can be effectively addressed through a collaborative patient-oriented research model. Conclusion: Effective deployment and use of new robotic technology for research in an urban academic ED required significant planning, coordination, and collaboration with key personnel from multiple disciplines. Clinical Impact: A pilot clinical study on mTBI patients using the robotic device provided useful data without disrupting the ED workflow. Integration of this technology into the ED serves as an important step toward pursing active clinical research in an acute care setting.

摘要: Distribution system analysis requires yearlong quasi-static time-series (QSTS) simulations to accurately capture the variability introduced by high penetrations of distributed energy resources (DER) such as residential and commercial-scale photovoltaic (PV) installations. Numerous methods are available that significantly reduce the computational time needed for QSTS simulations while maintaining accuracy. However, analyzing the results remains a challenge; a typical QSTS simulation generates millions of data points that contain critical information about the circuit and its components. This paper provides examples of visualization methods to facilitate the analysis of QSTS results and to highlight various characteristics of circuits with high variability.

Enhanced Performances of PVK/ZnO Nanorods/Graphene Heterostructure UV Photodetector via Piezo‐Phototronic Interface Engineering
摘要: We investigated whether intra-/interhemispheric long-range beta coherences mirror developmental changes in affective functional integration during adolescence. Electroencephalogram data were gathered from 15 young adolescents, 16 old adolescents, and 16 young adults during viewing affective pictures. The results indicated that both positive and negative pictures induced greater intra- and interhemispheric long-distance beta coherences than neutral pictures. However, opposite results were observed between young and old adolescents in terms of negative phase differences. Old adolescents exhibited greater beta coherences for positive and negative pictures than both young adolescents and young adults, but there was no difference between the groups for neutral pictures. These observations suggest that long-range beta coherence might reflect the late maturation of affective functional integration in adolescents.

Single-to-Balanced and Balanced-to-Balanced Dual-channel Filters Using Multilayer Substrate Integrated Waveguide Cavities
摘要: This paper presents a scheme for designing single-to-balanced and balanced-to-balanced dual-channel filters using multilayer substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavities. By sharing the common SIW cavities, two single-to-balanced or two balanced-to-balanced filters are flexibly integrated as one dual-channel circuit, resulting in very high integration. The input and output ports are properly arranged to the SIW cavities, where the two modes of the TM110 degenerate modes can be separately excited by the ports of the two filter channels. Moreover, the resonance modes of one channel have no coupling to those of the other channel. Thus, isolation between the two channels is achieved even though the two channels are designed sharing the same SIW cavities. The desired balanced ports are achieved based on the inherent out-of-phase electric field property of the SIW cavity at TM110 degenerate modes. For verification, a six-port single-to-balanced dual-channel filter is implemented, exhibiting excellent single-to-balanced filtering responses of each channel and high isolation between the two channels. By converting the single-ended ports to balanced ports, second-order and third-order balanced-to-balanced dual-channel filters are proposed. Moreover, the proposed designs can also realize different channel bandwidth or channel frequencies to meet different wireless applications.

摘要: Modular multilevel converter (MMC) topology is discussed intensively as a crucial part of future dc grids, especially to integrate offshore wind power. While generalized voltage-source converter models are usually utilized for multiterminal investigations, conclusions on transient dc grid behavior and on ac–dc interactions during distorted ac grid conditions are hard to draw or are limited in their signi?cance. In this paper, a MMC-based dc grid framework with a tripartite focus on an internal converter as well as dc and ac grid control is presented. Besides, an evaluation of the implemented MMC model that incorporates the available arm sum voltage, a decoupled ac and dc current system control concept that is suitable to handle unbalanced voltage conditions is derived for HVDC applications. Combined with wind farm arrays, this collocation allows a meaningful examination of hybrid ACDC structures and the implemented dc grid control methodologies. To provide proof of the universal applicability of this framework, simulations are carried out on a ?ve-terminal system.

摘要: In this paper, a polymer/silica hybrid three-dimension integrated multiplexer based on mode division multiplexing (MDM) and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) is proposed. WDM is implemented on different layers by two multimode interference (MMI) couplers, and MDM is achieved by a three-dimension integrated asymmetric directional coupler. The coupling between the fundamental mode in the silica waveguide and the first-order mode in the polymer waveguide is realized by three-dimension integration of the upper polymer waveguide and the lower silica waveguide, and the WDM of 1310nm and 1550nm wavelength channels is realized by using structurally compact MMI coupler. The integration density of the chip is improved by multi-material hybrid integration and three-dimension integration, and the transmission capacity of the chip is increased by the multi-function integration of MDM and WDM.

[Semiconductors and Semimetals] Future Directions in Silicon Photonics Volume 101 || Monolithic integration of lattice-matched Ga(NAsP)-based laser structures on CMOS-compatible Si (001) wafers for Si-photonics applications
摘要: Si-photonics is based on the mature process technology developed over decades for the realization of ever more complex complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) integrated circuits on Si (001) exact wafer orientations. One of the key components for full scale functionality of Si-photonics circuitry is the integrated laser emitter, as also exemplified in this volume of “Semiconductors and Semimetals,” where the present status of development of various concepts for both hybrid as well as monolithic integrated laser sources on CMOS-compatible Si (001)-substrate are presented and discussed. These concepts for laser integration can be categorized into three main areas: (i) hybrid integration concepts by laser die or wafer bonding (see also volume 99 of this series, chapters “Quantum dot lasers for silicon photonics” by Arakawa et al.; “Epitaxial lateral overgrowth of III-V semiconductors on Si for photonic integration” by Sun and Lourdudoss; “Monolithic integration of lattice-matched Ga(NAsP)-based laser structures on CMOS-compatible Si (001) wafers for Si-photonics applications” by Volz et al.; “Growth of III-V semiconductors and lasers on silicon substrates by MOCVD” by Shi and Lau), (ii) heteroepitaxial deposition of lattice-mismatched, standard III/V-semiconductor laser stacks (see also volume 99 of this series chapters “Building blocks of silicon photonics” by Vivien et al.; “Heterogeneously integrated III–V photonic devices on Si” by Matsuo), and (iii) lattice-matched epitaxial growth of Ga(NAsP)-based laser on CMOS-compatible Si (001) in this chapter.

摘要: Self-consumption of homemade electricity from renewable energy in encouraged by the European commission to enforce their penetration in state energy portfolios. By using electrical energy storage systems and demand response, this technique can lower the overall cost of the renewable energy transfer in the electrical system and so increase it. To develop self- consumption efficiently, various energy policies can be imagined to create economic support schemes for motivating consumers to make active decisions in this way and mobilizing financial resources for an energy transition toward more RES in the future. Germany has experimented earlier this policy orientation while France is only beginning to consider self-consumption. The goal of this paper is to compare German and French policies in order to evaluate the benefits of PV production self-consumption. So economic national frameworks are recalled and then a 100kW PV producer is considered. With one-year time data series and an energy model, different operation conditions are simulated and times of return on investment are compared. Then, benefits for the electrical network operation are studied. The benchmark distribution network model from CIGRé is used to quantify and compare technical constraint occurrences.

Millimeter-wave Air-filled Slot Antenna with Conical Beam Based on Bulk Silicon MEMS Technology
摘要: In this communication, a millimeter-wave (mm-wave) air-filled slot antenna with a conical beam at 60 GHz is proposed. The antenna is suitable to be integrated with various IC systems mainly because it is designed and fabricated based on bulk silicon MEMS technology. The whole structure is composed of an antenna part and a waveguide to SIW converter. In the antenna part, four meander slots are arranged annularly and excited by a square air cavity. The conical radiation pattern benefits from the out-phase E field excited on slots. An operating bandwidth of 2.17% for S11 < -10 dB and a conical beam peak gain of 3.21 dBi are achieved. The proposed antenna shows its potentials in mm-wave indoor communication.
