  • Silicon nanowire luminescent sensor for cardiovascular risk in saliva

    摘要: Cardiovascular diseases are some of the today major cause of death in the world. C-reactive protein (CRP) is well known as the main biomarker related to cardiovascular risk and heart attack occurrence. The standard CRP analyses are performed in a hospital or in a biochemical laboratory with blood analysis after a long chemical and labelling preparation that require expert personnel. In this scenario, a health care analysis that can be performed by the same patient at his own home appears extremely revolutionary. In this paper, the study of an innovative sensing platform based on the luminescence at room temperature of silicon nanowires (NWs) is reported. This NWs sensor is label-free and does not require a chemical treatment of the analyte, is strongly selective to the CRP demonstrating a femtomolar limit of detection and a wide operating range. This proposed silicon sensing platform can be realized with an industrial compatible approach and permits to reveal the strategic CRP level in saliva in order to prevent a heart attack, with great advantages for the patient.

  • A microporous Tb-MOF luminescent sensor based on a flexible tricarboxylate for highly sensitive detection of acetone and Fe3+ ions in aqueous and isopropanol

    摘要: One novel microporous terbium (III) framework, [Tb(DBB)(H2O)2](1), has been prepared from 4-(3,5-dicarboxylatobenzyloxy) benzoic acid (DBB) with terbium salt under hydrothermal condition. Structural analysis shows complex 1 possesses three-dimensional frameworks based on 2D double sheets linking by DBB ligands into porous channels. The gas adsorption experiments of N2 and CO2 show that complex 1 possesses microporous properties. Fluorescence analyses exhibit the characteristic luminescence of Tb3+ ion both in solid state and in aqueous. In particular, the Tb-MOF can detect acetone for its luminescence entirely quenching in acetone. Furthermore, the ionic detection experiments indicate complex 1 could be a good sensor for highly and sensitively sensing Fe3+ ion in aqueous and isopropanol, and the detection limit could reach at 10?9 M in aqueous.

  • A novel luminescent sensor for disaccharide detection in food: Synthesis and application of a water-soluble rod-coil ionic block copolymer

    摘要: A simple and low cost method for detecting disaccharide in food product is important for people who need control the consumption of saccharides in daily life. In this study, a water soluble rod-coil ionic block copolymer poly[2,7-(9,9-dihexyl-fuorene)]-b-cationic quaternized-poly[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate] (PF-b-PDI) was employed as luminescent sensor for detection of lactose, sucrose and maltose in food. It was found that the PF-b-PDI could emit vision fluorescence with the existence of hydroquinone (HQ) in aqueous, but would be quenched by the oxidization of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The glucose oxidase (GOx) could be used for catalyzing the glucose to generate the H2O2. And the sucrase, maltase and lactase could respectively catalyze sucrose, maltose and lactose to glucose. With the selectivity and catalyst of enzyme, the PF-b-PDI aqueous blend with HQ showed fluorescence sensitive to sucrose, maltose and lactose with detection limit value of 1.36 μM, 1.09 μM and 3.08 μM, respectively. Moreover, the detection of lactose in milk samples by this method just revealed 0.44% of average deviation compared to standard lactose solution, which mean this method was suitable for detecting lactose in milk.

  • A Functional 2D Coordination Polymer Exhibiting Luminescent Detection of Nitroaromatics

    摘要: A polyfluorinated-aromatic carboxylic acid has been designed and synthesized by the acylation reaction, tetrafluoro-bis-(3,5-dicarboxyphenyl)terephthalamide (H4bdtfa), which assembled with Zn2+ ions in the mixed solvents of DMF, py and H2O under solvothermal conditions to produce a 2D coordination polymer (CP), {[Zn2(bdtfa)(py)3(H2O)]·2DMF}n (1), (py = pyridine, DMF = N,N'-dimethylmethanamide). The final structure has been carefully characterized by various methods including single-crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), infrared (IR) spectrum, and thermogravimetric (TG) analysis. Two types of four-coordinated Zn2+ centers present a two-dimensional ‘sql’-type layer through bdtfa4– ligands, and the adjacent layers are connected through hydrogen bonds and π···π stacking interactions to produce a 3D supramolecular framework. Luminescent results reveal that CP 1 can be regarded as a highly sensitive sensor for detecting nitroaromatics based on the fluorescence quenching effect. Moreover, the reason for the luminescent response of CP 1 towards nitroaromatics has been investigated by theoretical calculation, which indicates that the quenching reason can be primarily due to the energy- and electron-transfer as well as electrostatic interaction between nitroaromatics and CP 1.

  • Controlled dye release from a metala??organic framework: a new luminescent sensor for water

    摘要: By introducing the dye Rhodamine 6G (R6G) into a metal–organic framework (MOF), Mn-sdc-2 (H2sdc ? 4,40-stilbenedicarboxylic acid), with a pore size of 20 (cid:2) 9.8 (cid:1)A2, the composite R6G@Mn-sdc-2 was obtained. Subsequently, the MOF Mn-sdc-1 with a smaller pore size of 7.5 (cid:2) 7.5 (cid:1)A2 can be formed through a single-crystal to single-crystal transformation from Mn-sdc-2, thus tightly locking the dye R6G within the pores. Compared with R6G@Mn-sdc-2, R6G@Mn-sdc-1 exhibits a stronger ?uorescence emission of R6G. Because the MOF Mn-sdc-1 can reversibly transform back to Mn-sdc-2 in the presence of trace water, the dye R6G can be released. This enables R6G@Mn-sdc-1 to be used as a new luminescent sensor for trace water in organic solvents by monitoring the ?uorescence intensity of released R6G. The limit of detection can reach 0.035% in ethanol (v : v), which is among the most sensitive ?uorescent water probes.

  • Stable Tb(III)-Based Metal–Organic Framework: Structure, Photoluminescence, and Chemical Sensing of 2-Thiazolidinethione-4-carboxylic Acid as a Biomarker of CS <sub/>2</sub>

    摘要: A novel three-dimensional microporous framework, [Tb(pddb)phen(ox)0.5]n (Tb-MOF), was synthesized hydrothermally with V-shaped 4,4′-(pyridine-2,6-diyl)-dibenzoic acid (H2pddb), oxalate (ox), and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen). The framework of Tb-MOF features one-dimensional channels functionalized with pyridine-N Lewis base groups and the absence of coordinated and lattice water molecules in the structure. The Tb-MOF exhibits high thermostability (up to 385 °C) and chemical stability in a wide pH range (4?11) and common organic solvents as well as boiling water. The luminescence investigations of the Tb-MOF in common solvents, water with di?erent pH values, and inorganic ions were performed. Results show that the Tb-MOF has high luminescence stability and the ability to probe Fe3+ ions. Signi?cantly, the Tb-MOF with particularly high water stability can be ?rst developed as a highly selective and sensitive luminescent sensor for the biomarker 2-thiazolidinethione-4-carboxylic acid (TTCA) via ?uorescence quenching. The low detection limit (1 ppm), reusability, and high antidisturbance together make the Tb-MOF become a promising sensor for the practical detection of TTCA in urine systems, and for the ?rst time realize the detection of urinary TTCA through ?uorescence spectrometry based on an Ln-MOF sensor.

  • A water-stable Eu <sup>III</sup> -based MOF as a dual-emission luminescent sensor for discriminative detection of nitroaromatic pollutants

    摘要: A water-stable EuIII-based metal–organic framework (MOF) with dual-emission luminescence behavior, namely {[Eu4(INO)5(μ3-OH)2Cl4(H2O)]·(NO3)·(H2O)5}n (Eu-MOF; HINO = isonicotinic acid N-oxide), was successfully constructed by the solvothermal reaction of Eu3+ ions with the organic ligand HINO. The cationic 3D framework contains microporous channels with accessible Lewis-base sites and NO3? ions as balanced anions, which all contribute to the selective detection of multifarious analytes. This MOF shows ratiometric detection of acetone, Cr2O72? ions, and nitroaromatic compounds (NACs). In particular, it shows great recognition of four NACs in water, representing the first LnIII-MOF which can display distinguishing fluorescence phenomena on NACs rather than relying on the quenching effect. Furthermore, this is also the first example of a MOF-sensor for detecting these explosives discriminatively by ratiometric methods. Additionally, the mechanisms for luminescent responses towards different analytes have been discussed in detail.

  • Rationally assembled nonanuclear lanthanide clusters: Dy <sub/>9</sub> displays slow relaxation of magnetization and Tb <sub/>9</sub> serves as luminescent sensor for Fe <sup>3+</sup> , CrO <sub/>4</sub><sup>2?</sup> and Cr <sub/>2</sub> O <sub/>7</sub><sup>2?</sup>

    摘要: The utilization of a Schi? base ligand 2-((2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-benzylideneamino)methyl)phenol (H2L) a?orded five nonanuclear lanthanide(III) clusters of formula [Ln9L8(m3-OH)8(m5-O)2(DMF)8][H3O](cid:3)nH2O (Ln = Eu, n = 1 (1[H3O](cid:3)H2O); Ln = Gd, n = 4 (2[H3O](cid:3)4H2O); Ln = Tb, n = 3 (3[H3O](cid:3)3H2O); Ln = Dy, n = 6 (4[H3O](cid:3)6H2O); Ln = Ho, n = 2 (5[H3O](cid:3)2H2O)). Single-crystal X-ray di?raction analysis revealed that all of the complexes were isomorphous and had a diabolo-like topology. The intriguing Ln9 core was constructed by two square pyramidal units that shared a vertex metal centre. Variable-temperature dc magnetic susceptibility studies indicated weak antiferromagnetic interactions for 2[H3O](cid:3)4H2O, 3[H3O](cid:3)3H2O, 4[H3O](cid:3)6H2O and 5[H3O](cid:3)2H2O. The DyIII 9 cluster displayed a slow relaxation of magnetization. Fluorescence measurements revealed an intense green photoluminescence for the TbIII 9 compound. The luminescence tests showed that the TbIII 9 analogue could perform as a highly sensitive, selective and recyclable luminescence sensing material for Fe3+, CrO4 2(cid:2). In this work, the H2L ligand was derived by finely modifying the previously designed compounds (((2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzyl)imino)- 2(cid:2) and Cr2O7 2(cid:2)? *a and methyl)-6-ethoxyphenol and (((2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzyl)imino)methyl)-6-methoxyphenol, from which the Ln2 and Ln4 clusters were successfully prepared and reported. Noticeably, the decisive decrease in the steric hindrance of the predesigned ligands resulted in the expansion of the nuclearity. This work demonstrated the synthetic potential for assembling the large clusters by rationally decreasing the steric rsc.li/njc hindrance of the analogous ligands.

  • 3D water-stable europium metal organic frameworks as a multi-responsive luminescent sensor for high-efficiency detection of Cr <sub/>2</sub> O <sub/>7</sub><sup>2?</sup> , MnO <sub/>4</sub><sup>?</sup> , Cr <sup>3+</sup> ions and SDBS in aqueous solution

    摘要: A microporous europium metal–organic framework (Eu-MOF), namely, {[Eu3(bpydb)3(HCOO)(OH)2(DMF)]·3DMF·2H2O}n (1) with asymmetric trinuclear metal clusters extended by 4,40-(4,40-bipyridine-2,6-diyl) dibenzoic acid has been synthesized via the solvothermal method. PXRD of 1 confirms that it possesses excellent water stability and pH stability. The photo-luminescence properties of 1 exhibit effective recognition of Cr2O72?, MnO4?, and Cr3+ ions and SDBS. Furthermore, a wide linear range, high quenching constant and a low detection limit reveal that 1 can potentially act as a luminescence-based sensor for quantitative and highly sensitive detection of Cr2O72?, MnO4?, and Cr3+ ions as well as SDBS in aqueous solutions. To the best of our knowledge, the detection limit of 1 is the lowest value reported for Ln-MOF-based luminescent sensors to detect Cr2O72? ions (0.5 mM) in aqueous solutions. The use of a rare earth fluorescent probe for detecting MnO4? ions is not common. It is the first time that Ln-MOF as a fluorescence probe is used for detecting SDBS. Moreover, fluorescent-based test papers of 1 have also been prepared, which can be helpful to develop visual detection for Cr2O72?, MnO4?, and Cr3+ ions as well as SDBS in daily applications.

  • Function-Oriented: The Construction of Lanthanide MOF Luminescent Sensors Containing Dual Function Urea Hydrogen Bond Sites for Picric Acid

    摘要: Two novel lanthanide metal-organic framework (Ln-MOF) luminescent sensors for the detection of picric acid have been successfully assembled. Following the function-oriented research strategy, urea hydrogen bond functional sites were introduced into the MOF framework. The structural analyses indicate that the two MOFs have the same exact structure, both of which are 2D layers with diamond-shaped holes, which are accumulated into 3D framework by the interaction of urea and carboxylate hydrogen bonds. Interestingly, only half of the urea units is involved in support MOF framework in the form of N?H···O hydrogen bonding interactions, while the other half is located in the pore canal, thus reserving empty recognition sites. There are abundant N?H urea bonds in the inner walls of three types of interpenetration 1D channels. Luminescence studies revealed that the two Ln-MOFs exhibited high sensitivity, good selectivity and fast luminescence quenching response towards picric acid. Especially, the two Ln-MOFs can be simply and quickly regenerated, which exhibited excellent recyclability. We successfully use of function-oriented research strategy to achieve multiple functions with a ligand to construct lanthanide MOF luminescent sensors for the detection of picric acid, providing an idea for the development of clear purpose MOF luminescent sensors.
