A Traceable High-Accuracy Velocity Measurement by Electro-Optic Dual-Comb Interferometry
摘要: An electro-optic dual-comb Doppler velocimeter for high-accuracy velocity measurement is presented in this paper. The velocity information of the object can be accurately extracted from the change of repetition frequency, which is in the microwave frequency domain and can be locked to an atomic clock. We generate two optical combs by electro-optic phase modulators and trace their repetition frequencies to the rubidium clock. One functions as the measurement laser and the other the reference. Experimentally, we verify its high accuracy in the range of 100–300 mm/s with a maximum deviation of 0.44 mm/s. The proposed velocimeter combines the merits of high accuracy and wide range. In addition, since the repetition frequency used for the measurement is traceable to the rubidium clock, its potential superiority in traceability can be utilized in velocity metrology.

Calibration of Displacement Laser Interferometer Systems for Industrial Metrology
摘要: Displacement laser interferometer systems are widely used for the calibration of machine tools and CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines). Additionally, they are often the workhorse in dimensional calibration laboratories, where they act as the basic metrological traceability link for many calibrations. This paper gives a review of the calibration of such systems, where several approaches, such as the calibrations of separate components or the system as a whole, are reviewed. The calibrations discussed are: the laser frequency, the counting system, software evaluation of the environmental conditions, environmental and material temperature sensor calibration and the calibration of optics that is part of the system. For these calibrations considerations are given about the ways these can be carried out and about establishing the re-calibration intervals.

摘要: This paper describes results and equipment involved in experiments with realization of quantum impedance standard, based on ac quantum Hall resistance standard. CMI developed cryogenic probe with TO-8 holder and coaxial wiring, device holder and digitally assisted (DA) bridge suitable for ac measurements of quantum Hall effect. Experiments were performed at liquid helium temperatures with GaAs devices placed in double shielded holders.

摘要: Methods for traceable characterization and uncertainty evaluation of planar 1-port CPW short-open-load (SOL) devices are developed. The agreement of modelling and verification measurement results greatly supports the application of the proposed parameterization models and used FEM-based EM modelling of CPW structures for traceable characterization of planar CPW-based SOL devices in the frequency range between a few kHz up to 50 GHz.

摘要: This paper describes how the Time and Frequency Laboratory of CENAMEP is preparing its process to use the SIM Time Network Bilateral Comparison as backup link to demonstrate the traceability to UTC for his calibration and dissemination services following the CCTF-WGMRA Guideline 9: CCTF criteria for obtaining traceability in Time and Frequency, and the procedures and uncertainty estimation explained in this document can be used as example for other Time and Frequency laboratories in SIM region that have similar characteristics as CENAMEP AIP, and are seeking to demonstrate traceability using the SIM Time Network.

摘要: This study demonstrates a quantitative measurement of absolute terahertz power of tens of nanowatts at room temperature. A highly sensitive calorimetric measurement system is constructed using an extremely low noise amplifier and multilayer thermal insulation jackets. A vacuum insulator is used to mitigate thermal disturbance; therefore, very stable measurements are realized at room temperature. As a result, the absolute power of 26.7 nW is measured at 1 THz with the relative expanded uncertainty of 4.2% (k = 2).

摘要: This paper presents the qualification of a transient recorder used in a system for traceable measurements of Very Fast Transients. The system is designed for traceable measurements of VFT up to 100 kV, having a target settling time <10 ns, a peak voltage error <1%, and a front time error <5%. The rise time of the digitizer is 1.6 ns at 50Ω and 1.2 ns at 1 MΩ. Step responses show settling times of 4.5 ns. A convolution method gives a peak voltage error of 0.12% and a front time error of 4.1% for 4.5ns front times.

摘要: A national traceability chain from dc quantum Hall resistance (QHR) to capacitance has been established at KRISS using various impedance standards and ac coaxial bridges. Two bridges developed by INRiM, were employed: a quadrature bridge, calibrating 1000 pF capacitors versus 103 kΩ ac resistors and a ratio bridge, linking the ac resistor values to an ac-dc calculable resistor calibrated in terms of the dc QHR. The capacitance value obtained with the new traceability chain showed an agreement (a few parts in 107) in a comparison with the scale maintained at National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST, USA).
