To estimate the functional core dimension for one-rod core triangular MOF (T-MOF) from its geometrical characteristics by using an alternative analytical field model and to scrutinize the validity of the choice of effective core dimension for T-MOF.

The analytical field model is a trustworthy theoretical aid enabling to narrate the electric field profiles in the near-field and far-field regimes with appreciable accuracy for one-rod core T-MOF. The study demonstrates that the field model in conjunction to effective normalized frequency can facilitate the effective indices for the fundamental core mode with appreciable accuracy. Chromatic dispersion for different configurations of one-rod core T-MOF is reliably estimated and the zero dispersion wavelengths are also achieved with suitable choice of the structural parameters.

The study does not consider optical losses such as Rayleigh scattering loss, OH-bond absorption loss, ultraviolet absorption loss, and infrared absorption loss in the simulation for the sake of simplicity. The theoretical descriptions based on the normalized frequency are approximate for one-rod core T-MOFs.
