The synthesized Fe-BiOCl nanosheets exhibited visible light response and possessed a high efficiency of charge separation, which is confirmed by DFT calculation. The Fe-BiOCl catalysts exhibited good reusability and stability over five cycles, attributed to the facile redox ability of iron element in the BiOCl structure.
